As someone that grew up playing Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64, A Hat in Time is something I've been looking forward to ever since I stumbled upon the Kickstarter back in '13. In fact, I backed the game, and waited nearly 5 years to finally play it, and I can say it was well worth the wait.

Honestly, I can't reccomend this game enough if you're a fan of older 3D platform games; you should definately give it a try

As someone that grew up playing this game back on Windows 98, picking this up was a no-brainer. In all honesty, it's Chip's Challenge; how can you go wrong?

For those more familiar with the Windows version from 1992, this one looks and plays more like the earlier versions of the game, released for the Atari Lynx handheld and various home computers back in 1989 (Such as the Commodore Amiga); as a result, the game does feel a bit different (Most notable, from the preview video above, is the smoother character movement; which makes some levels a bit easier, and others a bit more difficult).

My only complaint is the audio. The sound effects are a bit too loud, moreso than the background music; with a few of them being rather annoying (I personally opted to import some of the sound effects from the earlier Windows version, but the game does offer the option to disable sound effects entirely if you'd like). As for the music, what they used just seems ill-fitting for this game; sounding more like music from a silent movie than a game about a nerd trying to impress the head of a computer club.

Still, it's worth a purchase; it's a classic.

The game suffers from some minor bugs here and there (Nothing severe that I encountered; mostly just annoying quirks), and it's not that long (It's a little shorter than the Half-Life 2 episodes), but for $5, it's hard to go wrong if you want more Half-Life

It's more of a bonus chapter to Half-Life 2 than anything, but for what it is, it's not bad, and the developer commentary is quite interesting if you're into that sort of thing. All in all, it's not bad considering it's given to HL2 owners for free.
