Ultimately I recommend, but this is a rough one to talk about. There are a few things in this game that make it just less enjoyable just by existing.
The difficulty of the game is surprisingly high, most likely was intended to be played right after HK1.
The power progression at the beginning is pretty slow, and apart from unlocking necesary skills, the tools you find along the way pre-act 2 are barely helpful in combat, which the game really demands you to get good ate really quickly. It does get better once you get the tools you need to start pivoting to actually varied gameplay styles.
The economy is rough. Yes, it is lore-accurate and makes sense, but it feels bad to need way more beads than you currently have 90% of the time, which can be fixed easily if bosses or countless gauntlets actually dropped you money (pretty sure they did in HK1).
The last aspect of the game that really sours my experience is shards. They are used to recharge the uses on your red tools, that already have a limited uses between benches, which made me not want to use them for the most of the game, because I simply did not want to farm shards on top of beads every time you are hard stuck on a boss or a gauntlet (sometimes two in one) encounter.
Despite all that, the game is fantastic, the art, story, music, atmosphere, all great, and just for a $20 and a variable amount of your sanity, this is a fantastic buy.

Great game, but please make the in your codex better.

Honestly, on of the best survival games I have ever played. Great qol and feel, and the updates will only keep making it better.

This is one of the relics from the past. Too bad there are no more games likes this made as of recently. This game may have outdated graphics but it has numerous of hours of content. The DLC's are not required but the enhance the experience.
