I've played about another week of this game and while it still definitely has its problems, I can see some charm. I have left my original review below.

This game is not something you can rush through. And the content is a bit repetitive. But I will say that I have left it on and gone back to it several times just to play minesweeper.

Minigames are a good way to earn tips in the beginning, but they do fall off after a few levels. So idling is the main way to make money. The progression is similar to Rusty's retirement where you need to grow a certain amount of crops to unlock the next one. Here, you need to serve a certain amount of dishes to unlock the next one. So every few hours, you can unlock another dish. There is a customer boost that you can activate every so often and you can win some minigames to boost attendance for a time, but otherwise, all you can do is wait.

I complained earlier about the RNG for unlocking furniture. I think I unlocked one piece around once a day, so its not the worst rate. It just takes time. And by the way, the music is okay, I think there is a decent selection.

Still, there are frustrating parts.
There was a tutorial at the start. Hopefully you pay attention to it because you don't get it again. I have no idea what the mailbox or blessings do at all.
Minigames still have their issues. Minesweeper not being balanced. If you fold in poker, all the money in the hand just poofs. In the shape merging game, you lose a bit earlier than the line loss line.

Overall, its okay. I'd pick it up on a sale. I wish the game had more expansion options than the initial few tables and stools. But it looks like the unlocks are just more decorations. I think the biggest draw would be playing the ridiculous minigames every once in a while.

Original review below:

Unpolished game that seems to rely a lot on RNG to unlock progression. There is potential, but a lot of it feels repetitive. Tips come in slowly, so if you want to make money you need to play the minigames.
Several of the minigames have flaws such as
- Minesweeper can often end up being 50-50 choices.
- The star puzzle game not registering a level complete.
- The poker help menu seems to be stuck.
Some furniture are unlocked through rating increases from upgrading, but some furniture are locked by RNG where you need to wait for a certain type of customer to appear. This can be random and after almost 10 hours of gameplay, I have only seen two.

Fun game. There are a few balancing issues in the game and it can be a little repetitive.

But the game is still being updated and each king comes with its own gaze and spells.

It used to be frustrating before there was a run save feature, but thankfully that was updated so now I can just play and quit without needing to commit time to finishing a run.

Fun game, but needs some polish.

There is a balance problem where fights tend to be too easy or too difficult. There are very few fights where it feels like your actions decided victory. It can also be difficult to judge how hard a fight will be. You can go from fighting an easy army and then the next objective is to fight a god.

Thankfully, the game is also very forgiving. There is no permanent troop loss, you would just revive at the last city you visited. So its a comfy game if you just want to idle and build up resources. There is not too much time constraint when it comes to finishing quests.

Translation is hit or miss. The starting stories are mostly understandable and some of the cutscenes make it obvious what is going on. But I think there are some complex quests that get lost in translation so I am just doing the objective without knowing the underlining plot.

Upgrading troops and setting formations is fun. Most troops have special skills that only activate when conditions are met. Some are simple like being in the front column or being next to the commander. But it can get a little frustrating to figure out positioning for best benefits, especially when the translation is hard to understand. A visual example if we right clicked the ability might help or just correct the wording.

Eventually you can rule a nation and recruit vassals. This can be a little sudden as it can come from the end of a quest. Then the other nations attack you and you get destroyed because you are not ready. There should probably be a warning before that quest is finished.

I think the game will get to a great state eventually, there is just a lot of QOL improvements that can be done before it gets there. But for $20, it is a decent game and the developer is patching things almost daily. It is fun running around beating bandits, but I will probably revisit it in a year to let it cook.

Short game where you break things in a house with your fists.

You can finish the game by smashing everything, but the objective is hit things that are out of place. At first, you may think it is the very large numbers of bookcases, but it is more like a fridge in the living room or a second toilet in the bathroom.

The objects are always in the same location, so there is limited replay value.
The message of the game is relatable for most people. And the price is about as good as you can get.

Fun game for what it is so far. But knowing these developers, it'll have a lot more content in the coming years.

Your team is powerful, but outnumbered. If the enemy security level gets too high, you can find yourself swarmed by enemies constantly spawning in every turn. So the ideal strategy is to move fast and undetected as long as possible. There is a push your luck aspect to many missions as well with loot boxes or matrix terminals scattered through the level.

For most missions, your team starts in stealth and undetected. The level would be full of guards, cameras, and other security devices. It is up to you on how you want to proceed with the mission.

As an example, one type of mission is to hack a cpu in the middle of the map. The only class that can normally interact with those devices is the hacker class. That class's focus is working in the "matrix", so it may be a bit lacking in a sneak or firefight mission.

There would be multiple ways of solving this mission.

You could go slow and steady with sneaky characters to kill guards and hide bodies. It is methodical, but one wrong look from a guard could cascade things poorly.

You could shoot your way in and defend the hacker as he does his business. This would need a fast and deadly team to not get bogged down by an increasing number of reinforcements.

You could also split your team and have some of them distract the guards. This would lure other guards to focus on those agents and may clear the way for your hacker to walk in. Your hacker might have an easier time, but how will you extract the distraction team? And if the guards spawn in the wrong location, your hacker could have a bad time.

There is quite a bit of RNG in this game but some of it can be mitigated. For example, patrol routes can seem a bit random. You could use a skill that would show the guard’s next moves. You could use a skill to make a noise that will move the guard towards the disturbance. You could get caught on a security device and use a skill to make that particular guard investigate the issue.

One of the biggest things to like about the game are the variety of classes and skills. You can also multi-class to have a hybrid agent who would have even more options. That hacker could be super sneaky if it multiclassed into a vanguard.

I would give a brief description of each class, but there are like 9 of them and this review is already very long. To summarize it, the talent trees of each class make them feel distinct from one another.

A soldier can specialize in aggression with skills that activate on kills. Or they could use skills that give defensive buffs when shot at. A scourge can be sneaky with skills that let him dissolve bodies and walk through security devices. Or he can be a menace with a shotgun while using poison skills to weaken his enemies.

There are definitely some balance issues among things. Smoke grenades currently feel like a get-out-of-jail card. No one can shoot the smoke, see through it, and the only attacks that work are melee. If your sniper gets ambushed by an unlucky reinforcement wave, you can use it to buy time while figuring out what to do.

Heat level can easily become a cascading issue. As you finish levels with high security levels, your heat rises. As your heat rises, the security level increases at a faster pace that makes stealth more difficult. Eventually your only options could be to take a pause while heat slowly dies down or build a specific facility at the safehouse.

Some parts of the game seem a bit underdeveloped. Like the safehouse mechanics. Each room in the building needs utilities before you can build it into a useful facility. There are not enough spaces to get one of every room type. While there are useful rooms such as those that will lower stress or heat level, I wouldn’t say any room is really mandatory. (Except nano-scrubbers needed to upgrade other rooms).

Several skills reference drones, but these don’t seem to be majorly in the game yet.

Still, this developer is known for having a very long update path. So I expect to play this game every year with fresh new content.
