better than tekken 7. I said what I said. Just wait for balances if it ever happens. Victor/Noctis is stupid and shouldn't be in the game.

Not finished playing, but have been waiting for this since the Prologue! Love the art style and atmosphere, and the story is great!

Early Access Review
EXANIMA: I love it. I haven't taken the time to write a review for a game in years-- but I really appreciate game developers that try to create something new-- rather than to create a boring game that only attempts to mimic other popular games to profit off of mass populations without really adding anything spicy to the world of gaming. There's only one game that I feel has gameplay similar to this one, though I dare not advertise another game when I wish to help boost this one.

---PRICING-------The pricing for this game is very fair, and perfect for an in-progress early access game, with responsive, active, hard-working developers.

---INTEREST--Been looking for new games to play and too many seem like unoriginal knockoffs of other games that provide nothing new.
This game catches my eye, as it places you in the middle of a closed off world with the only guide being a manual of how to play the game and interact with the world around you. Other than that, it's up to you to explore and uncover all that the game has to offer in terms of story and adventure

--MECHANICS--I can understand if players find frustration with the games ragdoll like mechanics, but I feel if someone really did like this game's genre of Dungeon survival and exploration. The mechanics add a skill mountain you can climb and see yourself getting better at the game. It also provides a sense of humor, as well as realism. (These mechanics may one day allow for a great EXANIMA PvP community.)

--STORY-- I haven't gotten far enough to write a good deal about the story. So far, it seems very bare-bone but again-- it's early access and I haven't gotten far enough yet.

--FOR PLAYERS-- If you like the genre of Dungeon exploration, survival, etc-- I would buy this game, play it til you get bored, but keep it in your library and revisit every once in a while to see what the Developers have added.

--!for DEVELOPERS!----------------------------------

--MULTIPLAYER-- You may already know this, but the moment you're able to add a co-op/multiplayer system, the game's playerbase should skyrocket. Despite this, you have to focus on what you have: The Single player experience. Take Don't Starve for example. It had a magnificent single player, and after having such success, THEN they later added multiplayer. So there's no need to rush multiplayer.

--TUTORIAL-- because the mechanics and controls of the game are so complex, the game really does need a more in-depth fool-proof tutorial as many players say. It took me forever to figure out how to open the door. And I thought push-to-open doors were locked at first. It took me a longer-than-wanted time to figure out how to pick up the torch and other items as well. I ended up never playing Dota 2 because when I was younger I never figured out that movement was right click instead of WASD. These mechanics are harder than a MOBA so try to improve it.

--MUSIC-- This is for a later stage of the game, but off the top of my head, I don't feel like the music fits the game, but I could be wrong. The music is an important part for setting the atmosphere for the game, as well as making an association between the game and the music. You want players, when they hear the music to think: EXANIMA. Lol this is where using unorthodox sound design could maybe work to make it seem iconic.

--KEEPING PLAYERS INTERESTED--

-Try to be as accurate as possible with deadlines or promises to the community. You don't to have issues such as with DayZ, which made many promises to players and didn't pull through to those promises until years after their given deadlines.

-The game feels stale as so many rooms and places look the same: and if this is NOT true, and I haven't gotten far enough, I suggest you add things earlier in the gameplay to keep players interested in exploring rooms til they get to a newer area. You need to make a player willing to endure all this room exploring to get to some other area or goal.

--MAP-- I don't know if there is a map in the game, but if there isn't-- perhaps you could make a player made map, where the player can draw a map themselves in-game. This would make it to where you're giving the player the ability to map, without doing it for them.

I will update this review after I've played more. :)
