Don't let the fanservicey first impression turn you away. This is a great mix between metroidvania and bullet hell that i reccomend for fans of either genre.

If you're only a fan of metroidvania games or platformers and are a little scared of the difficulty of bullet hell mechanics, do not worry, even in hard mode the bullet hell boss battles can still be manageable for the average player. You can still get your fix of really cool secrets and collectables while exploring the surprisingly fascinating locations all throughout the map.

If you're only a fan of difficult bullet hell games and have never preferred the non-linear gameplay of metroidvania titles, then you'd be glad to know that the game gets harder if you decide not to look for badges and upgrades. Tie that up with the highest difficulty and a few frustrating achivements and you'll have your own perfect hell tightly suited for all you masochists out there.

-Solid gameplay with a few fun mechanics.
-Good coloring, visuals and a pretty world.
-Open yet well placed world design that will never make you feel lost.
-DLC that ACTUALLY FEELS WORTH THE PRICE (comes with artbook as well as a menu full of extra modes, challenges, and bosses that were cut from the base game)
-Fun little comics about the characters and world accessable right from the main menu
-The world design feels so interesting yet so optional that you'll be exploring the world moreso because YOU want to see it, rather than the GAME wanting you to see it
-Great music for both the overworld and the battles

The game isn't perfect but i sure can't think of any direct flaws from the top of my head.
