A fun game for $2. If it looks like you'd enjoy it, then I recommend it. However, the game has significant obscurity issues with information that should be easy to find in a roguelike. Fire rate, damage, reload speed, enemy health, damage range, total crit chance, crit damage, weapon range, good luck. These numbers are not shown to you, so you have to figure it out or guess. Ammo capacity is only shown once you equip a weapon. The only way to see damage is to turn on the option to show damage numbers when hitting enemies, but this makes it to where you can only play the game at normal speed. Speeding up while having damage numbers will cause the game to stutter and stop. I enjoy the expansion, but don't enjoy the new weapons being treated like guns, but just calling everything different names and forcing new items and skills, thus lowering the overall chance of getting what you need. Ammo? Nah, max mana. Reload speed? Nah, mana regeneration. Kind of lame. The spells themselves are cool though.

Simple, chill, and fun, but way too slow. The game is unclear and doesn't properly explain how to do much of anything until you've figured it out for yourself (i.e. taking data centers, attacking, what can be built where, checking objectives, having objectives explained). Lack of pathfinding is annoying and slows the gameplay down as well. Recommended if you like classics, but not if you're impatient or easily bored.

Early Access Review
Game is still in "Early Access" after 8 years and is just average. The game would be improved with multiplayer (mods do not count; it should never be up to the community to improve a game for the developer). Conquest idea is neat, but still lacks the kind of complexity needed to really make it fun; the small map pool does not help in that regard. I don't recommend paying for games that only shine when they're modded.

There is potential here. As a single player experience, the game is lacking. If multiplayer was added, or if the Ascension mode was reworked, this game would easily be a recommend. Ascension needs to work like their other game, The Wilds, where you slowly level up and grow. Instead, it is just a 1v1 battle progressor on one of the small maps. It's a neat idea, but it needs far more to keep people playing. The spectator mode is honestly the most appealing mode right now.

Very jank. Impressive map builder. Only not recommended because the second one looks like a significant improvement over this silly simulator. This one should just be free at this point. Lack of multiplayer is also a negative.

The only horror part (darkness) is completely negligible (candles and flashlight). There are small dumb enemies that blow up, sometimes at random, and one unkillable enemy that pursues you. There are some neat ideas, like the wheelchair movement and your aim being locked to where you could actually turn in a wheelchair, also you can't aim and shoot *and* move at the same time. Unfortunately, the game is just not fun. Very boring.

Pretty average game with significantly aged internet reference humor (the worst kind). It has good tunes and can be worth a play with friends, but I wouldn't advise paying full price. Respect to the devs for still updating it after 9 years; that's always good to see from something that doesn't still say "Early Access."

I got this game as freebie years ago when Overgrowth development was just starting. It's a demo piece of the sort you would find regularly on Itch.io. It should be free, especially since it's a free game. That aside, randomly generated to the point of annoyance and frustration.

Fun game, that is longer available because of dumb AAA company shenanigans. Worth the play.
