I honestly didn’t expect Requiem to hit me as hard as it did. I really liked Innocence, but this sequel took everything to the next level - the visuals, the story, the characters - all of it feels so much more intense and emotional. The relationship between Amicia and Hugo is the heart of the game, and it’s handled beautifully. You really feel the weight of what they’re going through, and by the end, I was completely invested in their story. Amicia especially goes through so much - you can feel her breaking point, but she keeps pushing for her brother. It’s raw and real. The world itself looks incredible. There were moments I literally just stopped to look around. The way the game shifts between peaceful, scenic areas and dark, rat-infested chaos is wild - and it works so well to keep you on edge. And yes, the rats are back, and they are even more terrifying. Gameplay-wise, I liked how it gave me more options this time. The stealth sections felt smoother, and combat was a bit more flexible. It never got boring, and the pacing kept things moving without dragging. The music and voice acting also deserve a shoutout. Everything just feels polished and emotionally charged. You can tell the devs really cared about the story they were telling. Overall, Requiem is one of those games that sticks with you after the credits roll. It’s beautiful, heartbreaking, and just so well made. Easily one of my favorite story-driven games in recent years.
