Review Showcase
I just finished my first playthrough of the witcher. It took me 50 hours to complete the main storyline and almost every side quest. It's an incredible value and a deep role playing game.

I would reccomend this game to most players, and I would especially reccomend this game to anyone who has already played games in the Elder Scrolls series or Dragon's Age.

However, this game is old and the age does show in some areas. The game doesn't look amazing now, but back then it looked pretty dang good in some spots. The game can run on potato-computers because of it's age though. It will have a few crashes, but you can find fixes for those and the main thing to do is to save often. It doesn't really crash all the time.

The difficulty adjustments really do make a difference. I suggest not playing on easy if you have any experience with video games. Alchemy is cool and you should use it.

Most of the side quests aren't terrible go here fetch quests, but there are a few of those. Most of your time will be spent killing monsters, bosses, and completely destroying people once you get the hang of the combat. Look up a guide as to how the combat works. The tutorial section is really not that great, but the wiki is.

Yes, the combat is old, but it is simple and addicting. Going to the witcher 2 or 3 is like going into a different (but I have to admit sometimes better) world. You'll get used to it. Please, for the love of god, play this game in third person mode. It's way cooler. It doesn't matter that you lose an advantage in seeing what is behind you perfectly. Just do it. Hit the F3 key. I know you want to.

Now for what all is in the game:
Story (A really well fleshed out and good one)
Nudity in the form of game characters being drawn in lewd ways after a romance dialogue
Looting
Alchemy (Easy way out mode, pick what you want and press a button. Look into the wiki to make it more interesting.)
Elves, Druids, Dryads, Humans, Mutants, Witchers, Fish-people things, nightmare-monsters, zombie-things....and countless other monsters
Difficulty that actually feels right
Nudity in the game
A winding and complex system of dialogue choices and quests that do indeed change how the game turns out. It can even make the game harder because of your choices! The choices are so impactful some of them even matter in the Witcher 2.
Boobs on your screen
Monsters on your screen
Romance options
Nudity...

One final note. If you have read this far you have the patience to make it through the weak-ass prologue and chapter 1. Not really fun parts of the game. They just aren't great and really don't show you what you're missing if you stop playing in those chapters. Since you have made it this far I think you should buy the game now or when it is on sale and for the love of god please just make it to chapter 2 before you quit. It won't take that long. It will be worth it. I'm waiting.
