I have so many conflicting feelings on this game and its hard to say if i should really recommend it or not.

UNBEATABLE oozes style and has a some incredible songs and even action set pieces!
if everything worked as intended than I would say yes 100% please not only buy this but buy it for friends if you can!
but that's a really big if!

In my experience this game has a big problem with lag freezing and frame skips. (now that could be a problem with my machine but it still is definitely noticeable and gets in the way of gameplay.)
some segments are also just broken while others are interacting in ways i think theyre not supposed to.
I somehow got into the story with critical mode on which wouldnt be a problem (I think its really cool and hope it gets implemented as a real modifier for story mode) if it werent for the lag and frame skips.
But it cause med to not be able to progress around chapter 3's crescendo. without going into spoilers during the chart i was having trouble hitting notes during a fight and kept dying because critical mode and expert mode stacking but there were two notes at about the 3/4th part of the song that i couldnt hit. I thought it was a skill issue and because i was getting mad and the game and wanted to go on i turned on assist mode to get past the song. assist mode did let me get past the song but it still missed those 2 notes.

keep in mind these are just problems with story mode I havent had any problems with arcade at all and would even say that the price tag is worth it for that. Its left me a little melancholic because i love so much about this game and would still say its worth it but until they fix the story mode bugs especially accounting for higher difficulties i cant recommend an entire section of the game

Shame that this game isn't on steam anymore.
Had some really good memories with this one

Its so disheartening to see whats happened to this game. Servers upon servers over run with accounts that arent even people playing the game. I havent been able to play one of the most fun and defining games of the genre due to the neglect and disrepair that has fallen to this game. Vale ignoring the terrible things happening to one of their greatest cash cows has really left a sour taste in mine and many others mouths. If valve cares about their future they better do something about this before this becomes a problem for deadlock next

Well if this were literally hours ago id recommend. However they removed the ability to get to prime without paying, Instead of really dealing with the hacking crisis they made it worse for the people who havent lined valves pockets. Used to think the community was toxic but now theyre literally shaming people for being poor so i can say in full honesty due to the community and valves actions, dont bother

At one point in time i could not recommend this game anymore however that was some time ago. After a lot of changes to the game some better and some worse this most recent change is finally the breaking point. Behaviour has shown their hand and frankly i dont know if its one id bet on. The new ui is absolute garbage and demonstrates not only a lack of understanding about the game they are developing for but a lack of basic game design. It would be fine if the ui just looked bad but it actually causes eye strain. They then asked for feed back only to change absolutely nothing. im not going to get into the animations but honestly until you guys either listen to the people you ask for feedback or start caring about the game I will do whatever i can to make sure as few people as possible can play this game
