The ghost towns that dot the desert are many. On a forgotten by the gods stretch of land, the Nowhere Road connects a large number of such towns. Being used by brigands and ne'er-do-wells as bases for storage, this land has grown a wicked reputation for outlaw depots. Some clever generals use this knowledge to their advantage when their armies are in dire need of resources while campaigning out in the desert’s dunes. Searching through abandoned highwaymen's caches can yield fruitful results, so long as you don’t encounter the dangers beneath the sands.

In this particular story, one army has already set up shop amongst a bountiful mass of resources, while another army, in dire need of this valuable stockpile, mounts a strike. The Sandwürms sense incoming action and will soon rear their heads to dispose of the interlopers who dare tread on their sands.
