This is a solo developer project. The game was made initially made for the 48th Ludum Dare Game Jam in ~72 hours. All assets where either created during the jam or are CC0-Licensed, gathered from various sources.
------------ A few hints / tips. Don't read this if you want to find stuff out on your own: -----------------------------------------------------
- The deeper you go, the more valuable the ore gets. While ore at near surface level is only worth 1 credit, one ore from the depth can be worth thousands of credits.
- Always watch your oxygen and depth meter. If you ignore one of them or both death will come very quick. Also watch out for the fish. They are not your friends.
- Buying equipment that increases your depth always means that new ore types are now accessible, making the ore types you found so far obsolete. Be brave and try diving near your maximum depth limit. Great risks bring great rewards.
- Always remember in which direction you headed. Always try to remember your way back to the ladder.
- If you have to grind for a long time for your next piece of equipment you're probably doing something wrong.

Hi there! I played this game for my halloween special and I really liked the vibe of it! I had fun, the beginning was a little grindy, but I can't say it wasn't satisfying in the end. Reading the other comments, looks like I did find the bodies but missed the secret, darn. Here's my playthrough though!
Hey! I covered this in a video about relatively unknown horror games that are worth a look. Never figured out how to actually see coordinates, but I was impressed this was made in such a short time frame!
somewhere not far from the ladder, there's two floating bodies and one of them has a gps you can take to see coordinates
this game is awsome,i spent all my morning playing this until i finish i
cool game. the ps1 style is nice
PT/BR
Adorei o jogo por completo, só tenho algo a reclamar do inimigo principal que ataca o jogador, ele prende você embaixo dele sem chance de escapar, fiquei com muita raiva kkkkk
dude, this game was super cool. it lacked in some aspects yknow, i didnt always find it the most dreadful as i progressed a bit further through the game and by the end of it fear wasnt exactly a factor, but also, at the start there was defineatly a sense of hopelessness. i think for this to have been made in only 72 hours is kind of insane and that itself deserves some real recognition. i will say i wish you would keep working on this game and maybe extend it out further, i think its the makings of something that could be really interesting
awesome game, i love it
This is seriously awesome
nice
Short, but very sweet. The aesthetic and atmosphere is really well done, love me some deep sea exploration. The secret ending was also fun to get, loved this game.
the mac version seems to be damaged and cant be opened :(
AWESOME!!! I completed both endings and the game is FIREE!!1! Although I didn't find it much scary. With better graphics (mostly algae) and more endings i feel like this game could be brilliant!
Solid, solid. I don't feel as if there was enough horror but maybe I just did not explore properly. 6/10.
Amazing little game! such nice nostaglia with the playstation graphics and very well put together. The upgrading mechanics kept it fresh while the mystery of the open ocean and whatever lie beneath kept good pace. THEY LIED! DON'T TRUST THEM.
that's a wonderful looking game
fun game
Hey, I wanted to play this (oceanwork_mac_os_x.zip (LATEST version)) on MacOS and it threw this error:
“oceanwork” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin.
I tried multiple times but no luck. I’m on an M1 2021 macbook pro. Thought you should know!
Just finished both endings. Great little game snippet, better concept even... I could spend lots of time in a grind in some kind of endless growing mode, not gonna lie.
ima try to play it
That's such a great game. First played 2 years ago and every now and then I often play it again. Congrats (:
You did a amazing game in godot, keep up the good work
Amazing game, good atmosphere, no in your face jumpscares, yet still definitely spooky. I got a good scare when I was taunting a shark and another one snuck up behind me, love it.
*possible spoiler*
The only thing that I'm mad about is the wild goose chase i was sent on due to my own stupidity. For some reason, i completely ignored the squid statue when looking for the second ending and i got caught in the trap of finding a disk for the disk player behind the shop, only to find no disk, i searched for about two hours before i realized that i was stupid. (if there IS a disk, please tell me where, I could not possibly find it on my own)
this game is great though, highly recommend everyone plays it :)
very cool!! the design of the shark guy really messed me up haha, the low poly and pixelated mouth spooked me until i was sweating and he kept randomly popping right above me without me noticing
Really enjoyed this game, love the vibe and the loop is satisfying. I agree with others that it might benefit with slight adjustment in early game earning credits to get equipment felt a tad too grindy, even though I myself still enjoyed it. Unfortunately right after I had unlocked the first oxygen upgrade, my game crashed. So having a save feature is what I would need to continue playing a game of this nature.
this game was amazing
This game was really cool, I didn't dare tread the depths for the second ending though, too spooky for me
SAVEEEE PLSSSS, CHEKPOIN
Este juego me generó talasofobia
Fantastic game, honestly could not believe you made this in 72 hours. I would recommend maybe making getting equipment in the beginning a little faster. The initial grind might offset some people. Otherwise had a blast with this.
HI
Cool game! Yours is the first video:)
I was super impressed with this game. I never thought that the underwater depths were so frightening. These are huge squids, or octopuses, I don’t know what they are. They scare me very much. Even though they are just static 3D models. Completed the game with two endings. This game gave me inspiration for my game. I think one of my favorite little indie games.
The only thing I can note is that it wouldn’t be bad if the ground had a texture.
