This page sets out information relevant to the European Union’s (EU) Digital Services Act(opens in a new tab or window) (DSA), a set of regulations designed to prevent illegal and harmful activities online. The DSA applies to Canva users in the EU.
Legal Representative
Pursuant to Article 13 of the DSA, Canva has appointed EDSR as its legal representative for its services. You can contact EDSR regarding matters pertaining to the DSA:
- by email at compliance@edsr.eu(opens in a new tab or window)
- by writing to EDSR at Avenue Huart Hamoir 71, 1030 Brussels, Belgium
- by phone at +322216197
Reporting illegal content
Pursuant to Article 16 of the DSA, Canva users, trusted flaggers and members of the public can use Canva’s in-product reporting features or our content report form(opens in a new tab or window) to report content that may be illegal under EU law or otherwise violate Canva’s policies.
Reports about intellectual property infringement should follow Canva’s Intellectual Property Policy(opens in a new tab or window) and be submitted via our Intellectual Property Infringement form(opens in a new tab or window).
For more information about how to report content, please see here(opens in a new tab or window).
Appeals and dispute resolution for users in the EU
The DSA provides opportunities to dispute the moderation decisions that online platforms make.
If you believe that we've mistakenly taken action on your account or content, you can appeal our decision.
If you report content as violating EU law, you will also have the option to appeal our decision.
Appeals must be lodged within 180 days.
Here are the ways you can lodge an appeal:
- Notifications: Where we have your email address, we will send you a notification detailing our decision on your content, account or a report you have made. Follow the instructions in this email to lodge an appeal.
- Appeals form: You can also lodge an appeal on our website by filling out this form(opens in a new tab or window).

For more information about what happens after you lodge an appeal, please see here(opens in a new tab or window).
Dispute resolution for users in the EU
In addition, you may be able to challenge our moderation decisions (including if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal) through an out-of-court settlement or a competent court. Under the DSA, each EU Member State must certify out-of-court settlement bodies to handle eligible disputes. The European Commission publishes and updates a list of certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies. You can view this information here(opens in a new tab or window). Each certified body has its own rules for filing an appeal. For information on how to submit a claim, visit the website of the relevant certified body. Decisions by out-of-court dispute settlement bodies are not binding on you or on Canva.
Information on users in the EU
In accordance with requirements under the DSA, the average number of EU monthly active users on each in-scope service under the Canva brand between January - June 2025 was below 45 million. This information was prepared for DSA compliance and should not be used for other purposes.
Recommender System Transparency
Canva’s mission is to empower the world to design.
We may analyze your activity, content, media uploads and related data in your account to enhance and personalize the design experience and improve your experience.
For example, your template and image recommendations are based on a combination of features, including things like your past designs, what design elements you have used in the past, the type of subscription you have, answers to onboarding questions, your location and your locale settings.
Or, when searching for content on Canva services, your results will be based on a number of factors, including:
- How relevant the content is to your search query
- How relevant the content is to your type of account
- The popularity of the content in your location
