Emily Wilson has a secret: she's a girl.

No one outside of her family knows. And no one outside her family must know, not until she's ready to come out to the world at large.

So at school, she puts on an act: she's "Wilson," the hoodie-wearing, grumpy, sullen, unapproachable boy, who beats up bullies but otherwise minds his own business and doesn't talk to anyone.

And it's been fine so far. The ending line is in sight: in a few months, the school year will be over, and she'll be able to come out.

But then one day, when she's out and about, dressed as a girl, Emily has a chance encounter with Josh Woods, one of the people from her school she most dislikes. Faced with the possibility of being outed, Emily pleads with Josh not to reveal her secret.

And his response surprises her: he won't tell.

Because he has a secret, too.

A story about people coming together in unlikely circumstances, and about how you should never judge a book by its cover.

I was just reading this and not only are fountain pens a recurring thing, but IT MENTIONS THE CHAOS PEN!

Although at least one of us actually inks and writes with it!

Hahaha ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sorry, couldn't resist! I do like fountain pens very much, but not that one ๐Ÿ˜…

It's somewhat better in person! It is still absolutely gonzo, but it's a good looking gonzo. Way better than the movie trailer :D

At this point, I think Zoe Storm is the go-to for cozy warm eggfic     This is such a cuddly warm teen romance story, with a wonderful redemption twist at the end.   (and suddenly things about "To Own The Libs" make a LOT more sense).   So many "aww"  and "squee!"  moments to warm the heart!

This was so fricking adorable! And the plotting is so good! I totally didn't pick what was up with McPearson until the prom scene--even though that's what I thought was happening with Charlie in "Alex".

Thank you! Glad you liked it :)
