Time Out #137 - Theme Challenge

Hi there!  The new Time Out challenge is a theme challenge, and the theme is Nature.

I went through my bevy of stamp sets and came across this Whipper Snapper cactus stamp.  It was perfect for this challenge as well as for a thank you card I needed.  We visited my cousin in San Diego a few weeks ago, and she and her husband graciously shared their home with us for two weeks as well as gave us their car to use for the entire time we were there.  I admired her cactus gardens while I was there, so this image was totally appropriate to send to her.  I stamped it in Memento tuxedo black and colored it with copics.  I love Whipper Snapper stamps and packages because they include a colored image that you can use for inspiration.  I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die.  The thanks word was die cut once from green cardstock and twice from white then were stacked offset.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink and die cut with a banner die.  I added this to a piece of diagonal striped pattern paper as well as white Nuvo drops.  I also added some shimmer to the image and the word die.

Time Out #136 - Home Sweet Home Challenge

Hi friends!  The current Time Out challenge is in its second week, and I have a reminder card for you.

We are sponsored by Stamplorations for this challenge, and I'm using this very pretty stamp set called Frames & Flowers.  I used the colors from the inspiration photo and tried to emulate the rectangular design on the wall with my grid stencil and glimmer paste.  I stamped the flowers and leaves inside the rectangle frame.  I needed a sympathy card, so I added this sending prayers sentiment.

Time Out Challenge #131 - It's Our 5th Birthday!!

Hi friends!  Time Out Challenges is celebrating our 5th birthday!  I cannot believe it's been 5 years of great challenges!   In honor of our birthday, we have this for our Inspired by Words challenge:
"Hugs, kisses, and a lot of birthday wishes".

So I created a fun and colorful birthday card.  I used a birthday turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th in four bright cheery colors.  I die cut the circle in the panel to create a shaker card.  I stamped the sentiment (which I love!) in black Versafine ink and embossed it in clear embossing powder.  I added sequins and stars for the shaker bits.  It's a pretty busy card!  LOL!

Stamplorations is our sponsor this week and to celebrate, they are offering a $50 gift voucher to one winner!  That's a great prize!

Time Out Reminder

Hi everyone!  I had to make a card for a fellow teacher who retired.  I thought about a gift for her, and settled on a Barnes & Noble gift card.  She's a reading teacher, so I thought this old set from Papertrey Ink would be perfect for her card.

This is such a simple card, but when I say it took FOREVER to make please believe me!  I stamped the image I think four times due to smudges.  Then I dropped a stamp pad on the main panel just as I was ready to mount it on the base.  I inked another (the background is sponged with ink) and spattered it with that dark pink ink...I hated it, so I started over!  Then I didn't like the original pattern paper, so I changed that.  Yikes!  This is the final result, and I'm just ok with it, but it had to do!  I hope my friend likes it.  I stamped another sentiment about reading and Happy Retirement on the inside and put it in the envelope!

I'm also adding it to the Remind post over at the Time Out blog.  The theme is hobbies.
