Just Us Girls #607 - Photo Week

Hello!  Cecile is hosting Photo Week over at Just Us Girls, and she has chosen the cutest photo!  I just love it!

I knew right away what my card would look like, and it came out just as I imagined.  I've had this fox from Whipper Snapper for a long time and had to look for it!  It's a wood mount stamp too.  I started by stamping the fox, then the banner.  It took me three tries before I got it right!  The banners are one stamp, so I had to mask each one to stamp the other.  It should have been easy, but for some reason was a pain!  After that, I used a stencil for the clouds and stars.  The fox was colored with copic markers.  I added star dust stickles to the stars and glossy accents to his nose.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our October guest on the JUGs blog.

Color Throwdown #528

Hi everyone!  I'm playing in this week's Color Throwdown.  I haven't played in a while and had some time today to play with these fun colors.

Are you on a gnome kick? I just think they are so adorable and found this St. Patrick's Day one that I purchased last year that had not seen ink.  It's from Whipper Snapper and I colored it according to the image on the packaging.  I had to fussy cut it (no dies) which I do not enjoy I must say!  The background is a turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th that I stamped in two colors of green.  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle.  Then I used the thin frames die from that panel as well as from a black panel to get that thin black frame.  The sentiment was die cut three times and stacked.  I added star dust stickles to the gnome and spectrum noir shimmer to the sentiment and stars.

Thanks for stopping by!

Time Out #137 - Theme Challenge

Hi there!  The new Time Out challenge is a theme challenge, and the theme is Nature.

I went through my bevy of stamp sets and came across this Whipper Snapper cactus stamp.  It was perfect for this challenge as well as for a thank you card I needed.  We visited my cousin in San Diego a few weeks ago, and she and her husband graciously shared their home with us for two weeks as well as gave us their car to use for the entire time we were there.  I admired her cactus gardens while I was there, so this image was totally appropriate to send to her.  I stamped it in Memento tuxedo black and colored it with copics.  I love Whipper Snapper stamps and packages because they include a colored image that you can use for inspiration.  I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die.  The thanks word was die cut once from green cardstock and twice from white then were stacked offset.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink and die cut with a banner die.  I added this to a piece of diagonal striped pattern paper as well as white Nuvo drops.  I also added some shimmer to the image and the word die.

CAS(E) This Sketch (again!)

Hi again!  Three posts in three days is really not like me, but on Sunday I was on a roll!

Today's Valentine card is for my hubby.  I remembered I had this image when I went to my LSS last week and saw it there.  I had to search for it, but found it.  And guess what?  It has never seen ink, of course!  Glad I could ink it up today!  It was inked with Archival Jet Black ink so I could watercolor.  I'm really enjoying watercoloring lately!  I used Going Gray, Really Rust, and Certainly Celery reinkers.   The dp is Basic Grey's Kissing Booth.  I love how masculine these papers are.  The little hearts were punched from Really Rust paper, then covered with Wink of Stella shimmer brush and Glossy Accents.  I added Glossy Accents to parts of the mower also.

The sketch is from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch.

That's it!  You probably won't be hearing from me until Saturday's Just Us Girls post...but you never know!  Thanks for stopping in!

Case this Sketch #58 - Hey There

Hey there!  Are you stranded at home?  I just heard on the news that Western New York (where I live in Buffalo, NY) was the snowiest place in the country today!  Buffalo is right on Lake Erie and I live just on the outskirts of Buffalo in a city called Lackawanna.  We were in the eye of this storm since yesterday.  Our schools were closed today, and I just got a phone call that we are closed tomorrow as well!  I hope that's all the snow days we will have to use because we only have three allowable snow days in our schedule before they start taking days away from other vacations.  Fingers crossed!

But since I was home today, I spent about 5 hours in my craft room.  I only made two cards and a tissue box cover (the other card and tissue box will be shown over the next two days), but it felt good to be down there!  I love this first card I made.  I wanted to color today with my distress markers and chose this cute Whipper Snapper fox to color.  I stamped the WPlus9 sentiment then added some snowflakes (since snow was on my mind today!) with a stencil and modeling paste.  I also added some shimmer to the snowflakes with a Wink of Stella brush.  The fox's nose was given some shine with glossy accents.

I used the sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch.  I think it's pretty CAS, don't you?

This card made me think about all the animals that are outside in this cold weather and I worry about them.  We have lots of deer and I've seen a fox and even a coyote in my yard before.  We also have a few stray cats.  I hope they've found some shelter from this cold weather.  And I hope all of you are safe and warm today too!  Thanks for stopping by!
