A Little Monday Morning Tilda...

Happy Monday Morning!! It's time for Showcase Monday at The Town Scrapper. Several of the Scrapettes have projects to show you today featuring some of the product lines that Phebe carries in her store. Today, I'm on the schedule for showing you a little something!

This is Tilda Holding Lamb from Magnolia Stamps. I always get so excited when Phebe gets a new shipment from Magnolia! This lovely little Tilda would be perfect for an Easter card, but there are so many other possibilities for her! I made a card that could work as a thank you card or even as a little something for a treasured friend. This gorgeous paper is from Jilly Bean Soup...picked it up on one of my recent trips out to visit Phebe!! The sentiment is from Amy R Thank you Sentiments from CC Designs...another stamp company Phebe carries.

I used an assortment of warm grays on the little lamb and coloured in a "swirly" motion to try and acheive a "woolly" look. (swirly...how's that for a technical term?? lol) I went back in with the colourless blender to soften the marker strokes a bit.

Take a look at see what the other Scrapettes have made today for an idea of the product lines you will find at The Town Scrapper! If you are not close enough to Petrolia, Ontario to make the trip, don't hesitate to give Phebe a call at 519-882-0623 or email her at info@townscrapper.com. Phebe will ship orders out to you!!

A Little Love

Hello!! Well, we've made it to another Friday and today, I'm showing a card I made for The Town Scrapper. Phebe carries so many terrific stamp lines, one of which is Magnolia. I so love these stamps!! "Jam Tilda" from the "Yummy for your Tummy" line is one of my all time favourites! She is just so pretty! I can't tell you how happy I was the day she arrived at Phebe's store!

I really love white cards, however I rarely attempt to make them...I find them really difficult! Thought I'd give it another go with this one though, after all...you'll never get better if you don't keep trying, right? I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder with my Cuttlebug to add some texture to the white panels. For a splash of colour, I added some red cardstock for matting, and a scalloped circle of some Sugar Rush paper from Basic Grey (available right now at The Town Scrapper!) cut with my Nesties. Those lovely swirls were cut with my newest Nesties set, Doodle Parts. Phebe carries many of these terrific products...she ordered the Doodle Parts (and Flower Creations) Spellbinders for me, and you would not believe how quickly she received them! So, even if Phebe does not have a certain set you are looking for, she can easily order them for you!

Tilda was stamped on Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copic markers. Although I went with a bit of a Valentine's theme, I think you could give this card to a loved one any time of the year!!

Don't forget about the SALE going on right now at The Town Scrapper!! The "Buy one, get the second of equal or lesser value for 50% off" is ending on February 14, 2010!! If you miss out on this sale, you will kick yourself!! Head on out to Petrolia, Ontario to take a look at all the goodies at the Town Scrapper! You can also contact Phebe...her information is on her blog!
Also, don't forget to check over at Humble Pie Stamps for the weekly challenge! Some of the Bakers also previewed a new image that will arriving soon at the Town Scrapper for purchase!!

Blessings!

Birthday Tilda (post #2 today!)

I am so happy to be posting a card with this stamp!! I have been waiting a long time to get my inky paws on this cutie! This is "Jam Tilda" from Magnolia. As soon as I saw her, I HAD to have her!! Thankfully, my friend Phebe from The Town Scrapper carries Magnolia stamps! As soon as Tilda arrived in Petrolia, I drove right out there to pick her up...along with some other goodies! Phebe is still running her "buy one, get one of equal or lesser value for 50% off" sale, so you can stock up on some great products right now and save big $$$!! She also has all Christmas stock on sale for 50% off! (her contact info is on her blog...just follow the link above!!)

Now, my in-laws were in need of a birthday card and "hired" me to make one for them. Perfect opportunity to use my new stamp! I inked up Tilda and stamped her on Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copics (big surprise huh??). I just love these "sitting" images...perfect to perch on the edge of layers. This pretty double-sided paper is from We Are Memory Keepers (bought this out at The Town Scrapper too!). You know, the nice thing about double-sided paper is that it takes the guess work out of co-ordinating patterned paper. I used Bazzil cardstock as a base, as well as for the punched border. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella. I mounted it on a wooden tag covered with DP.

When I was out visiting Phebe, I picked up another new stamp set!! I am hoping to get a card posted later in the week with it, so stay tuned!

Blessings!

Melanie

Tilda's Sweet Thoughts

Happy weekend stampers!! Looks like we are in for another chilly one here in southwestern Ontario. Fall is definitely here! Actually, I sent my daughter to school in her winter coat and a hat one day this past week!

I need to ask, have you ever completed a card for a challenge, and then just forgot to post it?? I confess. I have. (blushing here!) This card was one I made for Mojo Monday last week, but my week just sped by and I did not get little Tilda posted. So here she is, late, but still pretty cute nonetheless!

I love this Tilda image. She is from the new Yummy for Your Tummy collection. I got her from The Town Scrapper . Phebe has several of the stamps from this collection, including the cute little rolling pin! (There are some adorable "baker" Tildas that go beautifully with this rolling pin.) I'm sure these stamps will go quickly, so make sure to get yours now! The design paper is also from The Town Scrapper, and I love this paper! It has just a bit of shimmer. I coloured Tilda with Copics, and added some Glossy Accents to her lollipop. I find myself printing a lot of sentiments from my computer lately, this one included. Tilda and her rolling pin were pop dotted for some extra dimension, and matted on layers cut out with my Nesties. And now Tilda, are you ready for your closeup??!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! As always, thank you so much for stopping by. Please feel free to leave me a comment...I love to know who's been visiting!

Blessings,

Melanie

p.s. Don't forget to hop on over to the Humble Pie blog to play along with this week's challenge!

Edwin...a long overdue post!

This is another card made for my guest spot on The Town Scrapper design team. This is a Magnolia stamp from the Chasing Butterflies collection. Once again, this card features paper by My Mind's Eye. This paper is so beautiful...I LOVE it! This paper pack came with some die cuts. This tag was just perfect for stamping a sentiment on. The ribbon is American Crafts, and it is tinted with Copic markers to match the DP...just like on the Tilda card (ok...it really does match the little birds on the tag, event though it doesn't look like it in this pic!). The butterflies are popped up for added dimension. Buttons are from Making Memories. All these materials can be found at The Town Scrapper. (except the cardstock, which was from my personal collection!) Edwin was coloured with Copic markers and popped up, so it looks like he is ready to run right out of the card! I love the depth that can be achieved with Copic markers. Adding shading and contrast really makes an image pop!

Forgot to mention that the sentiment is from the Amy R. Thank You set... Phebe sells this set too!

Thanks for taking time to look in!

The Town Scrapper DT

Good morning all! I am very excited...this is my first submission as a guest on Phebe's design team for The Town Scrapper ! This is Tilda from the Chasing Butterflies collection. Phebe has a great selection of Magnolia stamps...go and check them out! Tilda was coloured with Copics to match the design paper. This paper is AWESOME! It is from My Mind's Eye. I had never used this paper before, but I will definitely be getting more! The texture and weight is beautiful. I distressed the edges of the layers. When I was piecing it together, I thought that it looked a lot like fabric. So...I decided to try my hand (well, my sewing machine!) at stitching on a card. I have seen many cards with this feature, and have been wanting to try it. The ribbon is American Crafts, coloured just lightly with a Copic marker to tone down the white...so that it matches the DP. The butterflies are also part of the Magnolia Chasing Butterflies collection. These were stamped twice, and the top butterfly popped up for dimension. The little button is from Making Memories. Pretty much all the materials for this card can be found at Phebe's. The little butterfly charm is the exception...it is from my stash...had it for a long time, and this card seemed to be perfect for it! I'll be posting another card with the Edwin stamp from this collection tomorrow...so stay tuned!
