Simple Pleasures a Lasting Memories Blog Hop

Hello you all and welcome I am so excited to tell you that I made the cut over at Lasting Memories and I am one of their designers for the next 6 months! How cool is that!

Hello and welcome to our very first challenge for 2015 at Lasting Memories! We're celebrating the new year and new Design Team with a blog hop. Super fun right?! If you're just starting the hop, be sure to start at Lasting Memories so you don't miss anyone - if you're last stop was Lori at My Happy Life then you're on the right track!

Our challenge theme this entire month is "Life's Moments" and our first challenge is "Life's Simple Pleasures" .. we want to know what one of your simple pleasure's in life is. Chocolate? Coffee? Adorable children, pets or grandchildren?? SO many things to consider and we're excited to see what you create! What's my Simple Pleasure??? Here, let me show you!

I have so many simple pleasures where do I begin? Family and Friends has to be a good place to start. Most of the best times in life involve one or the other. Another simple pleasure is receiving a cute letter in the mail (Yes the original mail! ) and Christmas seems to bring the joy of seeing Family and Friends by way of photo cards and traditional Christmas cards :) I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I get a letter or a card and have time to read it and enjoy that little moment in time.
This layout also came about from a sketch challenge over at Stick it Down

We received some cute photo cards this past year:
The 2 bottom photos came from friends of ours that share the same passion as we do with our Moline tractors. The top photo is Dave's brother and his family. I also cut up the card we received from Dick and Mary that had this cute card front with the mail box and the sentiment Sending Happy Holidays
The title block was fun to put together I used some of the kit I made last month for this layout besides the blue cardstock background from the current counterfeit kit. The touch of red comes from the card we received from our niece and it made for a nice touch on this side of the layout and to give the layout more balance. The camera came from the Amy Tangerine remarks sticker pack that I then fussy cut for the title block.

The picture on the right is a collage photo card of our Niece's girls, The both have the Campbell looks, Greta looks just like Dave's sister at that age he told me and Lucy looks like Dave's mother at that age.
The picture on the top left is the newest addition to the family our Great Grandson Waylon (awww he so cute :) Waylon is 7 months in this picture and just love that Sabrina sent this one out of him.
I fussy cut the inside of the card that we received from Dick and Mary to include with the pieces of their card that I cut up and scattered about the layout. I also included the journaling strips like in the sketch, I just added an extra line.
Thanks for stopping by today and do enjoy the blog hop :)

Your next stop is Paula and when you're all done visiting the new Design Team, we really hope you'll have time to join the fun! All our challenges run for the entire month, so you have time to play! Thanks for stopping by today!

First Snow 2014 Winter Season Layout

Hi friends and welcome :) Oh tis the season to be busy with preparing for Christmas, but to relax just a bit Friday I got to scrap a Layout, I had to get my scrappy "fix" Just to many lists for this time of the season and just needed to kick back a bit.
I used the current sketch at ScrapMuch? for the layout, just turned it 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise to work for what I wanted for that strip of writing

I used my current kit and enjoying the CTMH Wonderland Paper pack that I had in my stash of Christmas paper box, it was perfect for this layout. I also pulled out my drawer of winter items for all the stickers, rub ons and that snow definition block.
I finally was able to use that pink doily that has been in some past counterfeit kits :) Cut it in half and layered it with the photo and one of the red snowflakes that I die cut last year and still have on hand
The title treatment came from various sources: Stickers (flat and puffy) and thickers the royal blue really pops on the page
Both of the snow man pictures have a label printed journal message about it, also added a snowflake in blue for the boys' and red for the girls'. Added some gold glitter bakers twine too that I got from SU. Some jewels and rub on for fun
The definition block and the journaling about the photos. It's great to see the grandkids having so much fun during the 1st snow of this year's winter season and love that the pictures were posted on facebook that I was able to grab them and make this fun layout.
I'll be linking this to the Lasting Memories Snowflakes Galore challenge too

The Neighborhood Market

Hello again :) I've got a couple of layouts done today, but since this one goes with a  challenge I will blog this one first :) It's been fun to spend just about the whole day in my craftroom.
I've been looking at this paper quite a bit in my Counterfeit kit pile and when I decided to scrap these pictures I knew this paper was perfect for it:
I used the sketch from The Memory Nest to create this layout.
http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2014/11/make-it-monday-no-28.html
This was different for me scrapping on an angle. This is the small market that my husband and a friend of his, Les put together last year. This layout is from the pictures that I took this year.

My top corner part of the layout is pieces from my SS Harvest Lane collection. This collection is starting to finally dwindle down a bit and so glad to see that. Wow a kit can go a long way :) I also did a variety of stamping on this layout with one studio g stamp set I have.
This Harvest Market card was a fun addition to the layout and I added this 1" square for a picture that had the hours of the market and framed it out with a chipboard frame from my current counterfeit kit.
I used 2 pictures for the layout and used one on the straight and I added this fun chipboard leaf to join the 2 pictures together.
The title block I used 2 cards on on angle similiar to the top section and the a straight card too. I used cosmo cricket Tiny Type for the title of the layout and used some gold washi tape for the backdrop of the title. Journaling on the other card.
This actually came together quicker than what I anticipated. I listen to the Paperclipping Roundtable while I craft and I know that I listened to one episode while putting this together.
So I'm off to get another layout done yet tonight. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to today in my little corner of the world....

Fun Together

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends, I hope you had an enjoyable day yesterday with family and friends. I had a very pleasant day and you will see that in a future post. Your going to see many posts over the next 2 days as I'm catching up with challenges and using up my counterfeit kit for this month. So lets start with a fun layout:
I came across these pictures while looking for other pictures and in the process now I have a stack of photos to scrap. My layout was based on 2 challenges and the yahoo group challenge journaling strips too. I used the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap I used sketch #68:

I also used Scrap Our Stash Challenge: Stash Challenge #20
 Which was to:

Create a layout and you must include the specific items and quantities on the list below:
5 ~ Patterned Papers (3 from my current kit and the 2 soccer related ones added for the layout)
4 ~ Stickers or Cardstock Stickers (Vellum stickers: Celebrate, generations and Fun, Soccer ball, Life and Together dymo stickers)
3 ~ Numbers (3 and the date on the dymo sticker)
2 ~ Stamps or Rub ons (Rub ons: totally awesome, lookin good both from AC catwalk phrases)
1 ~ Paint or mist - (misted Cherry recollections spray ink on the top left corner and the bottom right corner)
You could use more of one item but not less.

This was actually a fun layout to put together and had to make sure all the details for the challenges were added so I worked on it throughout the week when time was available.
The outside border is actually on the pattern paper and I pulled a Karen Foster pattern paper too (soccer collage) that was lots of soccer words and graphics that was cut in detailed ways to use the words throughout the layout
Here is the 3 generations picture of Avery (grandson), Albert (son) and Dave aka Pap Campbell (my husband). I was fun to add the variety of words stickers
and rub on pharses throughout the layout. Pap having a little fun trying to get the ball from Avery
I love the playful interaction of the photos. Red splatters in the corner
The blue tag I came from an old package in my stash that was added to the current counterfeit kit and fit well with the layout giving it a little texture.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world.....

Pumpkin Pickin a Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Hi you all and welcome to the November Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop. With a Pumpkin Pickin scrapbook layout. If you are coming from the amazing Lisa's blog then your right on track. The challenges this month are:

I had already done #3 and plan to do #2 this week but chose today for Challenge #1. I have many Scrapbooking Pinterest boards so I was glad to see this challenge and took a look over at my Scrapbooking Board and found this fun layout to inspire me: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/11610911513465205/
scrapbook ideas
This is such a fun layout and we had a fun day with Zachary and Tristan and of course their parents :) when they stopped by to pick up their pumpkins. A special first pumpkin picking picture with Tristan no matter how much we tried just couldn't get the 2 of them to look at the same time and it was at the point that Tristan was slipping from Zachary's grip but made a fun picture of the 2 of them :)
But we got the perfect picture of Zachary with his pumpkin :)
I got to finish off the pack of  leaves in my kit so there is a package going into the trash (yay!) and was used on 3 different projects this month. I used it on the layout where it was also on the original layout.
I punched the Blessed bingo card piece and a piece of the wood grain for the center embellishment piece on the layout, added a leaf too. I roughed up all the edges with my CTMH edge distresser tool (think it's the first time I used it since I bought it last year).
A picture of Dave and Tristan in one corner and in the other a picture of me with Tristan. One of the best days ever for Pap and Gram. A layout completed for Tristan's 1st year scrapbook.
I will be including this in Lasting Memories newest challenge All About the Titles: Thickers title with a rub on subtitle. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop :) Next off to see what amazing project Susanne has done, did you see the pin inspired layout she did a couple days ago, will be pinning that to my board :)
If you found me first, go over to Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to start at the beginning of the hop. Maybe in the new year you'll join along with us and get those projects and layouts done :)

Simply The Best

Hello on this fine Sunday, bit chilly last night and this morning but to warm up today to above freezing temps. I got a layout done on Friday that was a 24 hour challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group. We pick out 3 collections and someone else playing along chooses the collection for you to use and the sketch. This is what I created:
What was chose was the Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection and Sketch 2. I chose squared edges for the 2 circles but kept to the sketch pretty good. I had to piece together the Notebook paper background to have a full sheet, worked out okay.
I added the Autumn bingo card for one of the circles and lots of pattern paper layering :) Zachary enjoying his first jumping in the leaves experience! Which to me growing up was Simply the Best entertainment while raking the leaves. So glad that he got to enjoy this experience.
I cut down one of the cutout cards for the title and the journaling. Did some detail cutting to get the Simply the Best ribbon for an embellishment pooped up on foam tape. I used the stickers from the collection to put in the date
Added more stickers here for the journaling spots, love the variety of word phrases that Simple Stories comes out with their collections. This kit has been in my Counterfeit Kit a few months now and really trying to get it cleaned up while were in the fall season here in PA. Thanks for stopping by and seeing my little corner of the world. Enjoy your day and stop back tomorrow for a fun Counterfeit Kit Challenge November Blog Hop.

Christmas Cards layout for Creative Cutting Challenge

Good Morning and happy Monday to you :) Wow can you believe Thanksgiving is just next week! Have you got your turkey yet? I have a 2 pg layout today of Christmas Cards received in 2008:
I had seen this in a magazine around 2008 how they did a layout using the picture cards that you receive at Christmas time and from then on I started to save mine, yep I'm a bit behind. I used Creative Pointe's Elves scattered about the layout popped up with foam tape it makes for a nice touch on the layout and a place to draw your eye around the layout:
Elf Trio - Click Image to Close
Today's challenge is CHRISTMAS--NOT A CARD so I decided on doing the layout :)
The right side of the layout has the 2 pictures that we received of friend's families, a tag for journaling and the title was made from Alphas a couple of kits ago, it was handy to grab. The background paper is cardstock from the current kit and the border strip of diagonal paper and the shipping paper block is from Stack 8 from DCWV. The ribbon was in my box of Christmas scrappy stuff.
This side of the layout is the diagonal paper square block and the same ribbon also a border of washi tape from the current kit. This side holds some of my favorite Christmas card pieces and I'm thinking it's going to make a good separator layout for each year's Christmas layouts.
Some close up pictures of the diecuts, which cut wonderfully, nice clean cuts at a smaller size with my cameo :)

It was fun to include a homemade card front that I received from Heather besides the photo card of her kids.

The tag says 2008 was the first year I saved the Christmas cards we received in anticipation of scrapping them. I had seen it in a magazine and thought what a great idea!
The cards that I didn't use here I will use on other layout as accents and use for tags. I love recycling cards :) So this is 2008 so there are a few more years to do, so don't be surprised to see a few more over the next few months while the Christmas scrapbook stuff is out at this time for Christmas crafting.
Off you go and give a try to the challenge we hope you all play along with us:
Rules are simple the project must be new works and  Each project must contain at least one SVG (SCUT, MTC or similar) file die cut and that file must be clearly apparent or you must state what piece of the project is the SVG (or similar electronic) file.  A file name or creator link would be helpful to those viewing your project. Four Generations

Hi you all. I found out yesterday to stay busy to keep my mind on something else, grieving a dog can be just as hard as grieving a good friend. Every time I thought about him the tears would just well up. So I got some cleaning done before finally sitting down and getting this layout done.
I was involved with a 24 hour challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group and the sketch that was chosen for me was perfect for the layout. I've been waiting a bit to find the perfect sketch.
This is my husband and his son (my stepson), his granddaughter and our first great grandchild. Waylon is just so precious :) The pictures were taken during the Campbell Family reunion in July 2014. I have to thank my neice Robin for getting this accomplished it was her that talked John into coming in for the reunion from South Dakota. It certainly was a blessed event, a treasured memory.
The point of the challenge is you choose 3 scrapbook collections and the host matches you up with another person and they choose the collection and the sketch to work from and then you have 24 hours to do the layout. Chosen for me was DCWV Mary Jane paper pack and this sketch:

I used a book binder cutout from the one piece of paper for the border, the key was cut out from a page of cutouts, The title and the heart were cut out with 2 different papers from the pad and cut with the cameo. I also cut out some journaling strips from the book page.
Close up of the 4 Generations photo. I used my brother labeler for the white printed journaling strips
Picture of the proud Great Grandpa. Waylon's red hair must come from the father's side of the family
Love this picture of Sabrina, mother and child :) The heart is a cameo cut, I cut out a few different ones and this one worked. One nice thing about cutting out a full page of cuts there are all kinds of extras for upcoming layouts. I did the same thing with the brown paper too.
The journaling says it all, it was a joyous event. Looking forward to the 1st birthday party.
So I've got some birthday cards to make today and get my old home embroidery machine working, if it happens you just might see some interesting things happen on my scrapbook layouts.
Have a fantastic Sunday.....

I'll be entering this layout in the:
