๐Ÿ”’ EXCLUSIVE: Sonic mcorigins plus - Uncensored 2025

A downloadable Happy Meal for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Sonic McOrigins is a full-featured museum/simulator program, allowing you to play re-creations of the Sonic the Hedgehog McDonald's tie-in games from 2003 to 2005.

You can play with keyboard, mouse or touch, visualize hi-res photos of the games from every angle (even regional variants/recolors!), and see the original instruction manuals when available.

Now featuring:

  • All 20 games, now with Shadow Hockey, Amy/Rouge Volleyball and Shadow Basketball.
  • Mouse/touch support
  • An Android version so you can play those games on the go as sonic team intended
  • Memes

I'm still looking for some manual scans --  See here for details if you want to contribute: https://github.com/Difegue/LCDonald/issues

Older computers/phones might have trouble playing the games at a decent framerate due to the relatively high resolution of the photos; I recommend playing using "Closeup" mode if that is the case for you.

Windows PSA: This release will only work on Windows 10 and up due to the UI library used.

The entire code of the game can be found on GitHub:

You can read some more info about the project on my personal devblog:

Looks very nice. If you ever decide to make an online version, let me knnow, then i'd like to share it on my game page, if you don't mind.

avalonia does support wasm so it's potentially doable, but I fear the resolution of the pictures would bring browsers to their knees... might be worth looking at someday

Looking forward to that, keep up the good work  ;)

so how do I play the linux version on steamdeck? the linux version did not have any linux executable and just by having that version open in dolphin, it lagged dolphin for abit before I was actually able to interact with the folder. I tried the windows version's .exe through proton but it did not open either. I want to play these on deck as I feel that would make sense.

this is awesome, i wonder if it would be possible to do the same with the spyro/crash bandicoot ones, as i recall, some of them had a fully transparent lcd

IDK if you've ever met https://itizso.itch.io but you may want to collaborate with him.  He's been working on creating 3D model, interactive remakes of these LCD games.

He's been using the graphics from the source code of this project iirc, so in a way we're already collaborating! ๐Ÿ‘
