Thanks and Giving...

Happy Thanksgiving!

You all make me thankful every day to be a part of this great big, wonderful crafty community that we share.

I threw together a quick card for the holiday that is a bit of a departure from my usual scene cards. Instead, I finally inked up this large sentiment that I've had for years and let it take up the majority of the card front. On either side of the sentiment I stamped adorable hedgies from the Cocoa Buddies and Cocoa Stand sets from Hello Bluebird. I did some tricky stamping and wiping away of ink so that both are now holding delicious pies that are also part of the Cocoa Stand set. I added some fallen leaves from the Book Buddies set, then grounded them all with some soft shadows and just left it at that. Clean and simple with a great message and just enough cuteness to make me happy. :)

Happy Thanksgiving...

Hi friends!

This cute holiday cook was the free digi in the October newsletter at Sweet November Stamps. If you missed the newsletter that's okay, the Time for Turkey digital stamp is also available for purchase in the shop. I chose to use her for a sweet Thanksgiving Day card, using a very earthy autumnal color palette throughout the scene. The oven and countertop in the background are part of the Build-a-Kitchen digi set at The Greeting Farm and they work perfectly with this sweet granny. A simple sentiment and a fun die cut frame are all I needed to complete this happy and homey card.  :)

Toodles!

Gobble, gobble...

Good morning!

I'm pulling a quick flip from Christmas back to Fall with a funny Thanksgiving card using a stamp from the Autumn Greetings collection at Purple Onion Designs. The Thanksgiving is Here image has a fluffy pup running away with the turkey, who besides losing a few feathers, doesn't appear to be any worse for wear. To create the strip of text behind the pair, I masked them off as well as the space for the "gobble, gobble", then repeat stamped the words in three different ink shades. Once the words were on, I moved the mask to cover the words and then used the Copic airbrush system to color in the rest of the background. The warm, golden glow kind of reminds me of the inside of an oven, LOL! Anywho, this one really makes me chuckle and I had a lot of fun putting it together.  :)

Later gators!
