Cookie At the Museum part 10: Drents Museum

Yay! Part 10 is the first part of the 2020 At the Museum trips. And it was not even a work thingy. Berry wanted to see the exhibit very much and her dad too. So we hopped on the bike, than the train and went to Assen. It was so much fun. It already started outside the train station of Assen with a HUGE statue of a dog called Mannes. And then we saw the statue of Bartje, a very famous book character in the Netherlands and especially for the province of Drenthe. That was already very cool. The museum was cool too! Fairytale adventures with Aapie in Efteling

You all know me looooove Efteling right? It a fun magical themepark in the Netherlands. There are thrill rides (me no like those), fun rides (me looooove those) and a Fairytale Forest where the house of the witch from Hans and Gretl live. Me always want to take a bit out of that *drools* nommy *dreams away*… house… *sigh* So, me and me buddy Aapie went to the Efteling on June 27 2019 and boy did we have a blast! First we picked up Aapie and his sweet human up from the train station and then we had the bestest road trip to the Efteling where the fun started immediately. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Frolicking at Keukenhof with friends

O boy o boy me hosted an instameet on April 7 2019 at one of me fave places of the Netherlands: Keukenhof. Something about the colourful flowers and us plushies just totally match. So... we hopped on a train, got to wait an hour to get on the bus and totally arrived late at the meeting ourselfs, but it was great! The Jumi was there and Tibby the travelling Teddy and the Grecocrochet family too! It was amazing! Me also brought nijntje, because a year before we had adopted her from Keukenhof and she just really wanted to go back again! (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Cookies Keukenhof Memories

HELLO EVERYONE! Me is here with some flowers and Spring good times to cheer everybody up. Especially our humans. It a crazy world at the moment with a fast spreading flu virus. But me think our humans talk about it more than enough. Me just wanted to show some pretty things. Here in the Netherlands the spring flowers are starting to bloom. For the last couple of years (2017, 2018 and 2019) me have visited Keukenhof with Berry for workthingies, Instameets and recreational visits. We both loooooove tulips. We surely have tulipmania, hihi. So… because Keukenhof will not open right now because of this flu virus, me will bring Keukenhof to all of you with a LOT of pictures. Just click on ‘read more’ and enjoy! O and hang in there humans, this will pass and life will get to normal. Stay healthy and stay safe. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

An awesome instameet in Artis

On May 27 me and Berry hopped on the train to Amsterdam to meet our sweet friends Tessa and Woody (of Richie and Keith the rebels) for some quality fun in the sun. We decided to go to Artis again. Me was a little nervous about that, because well… because of the last time me was there and that horrible eye accident (me told you about that in me previous post). But Berry promised me this time Artis would be only fun. And you know what… she was totally right!

Me love Keukenhof – me visits in 2018

O boy o boy o boy, me loved writing about me instameets at Keukenhof this year so much, me already made a follow up to tell you more about the other visits me had this year. Like me told you before, me got to visit Keukenhof 5 times this year. 2 times for instameets, 3 times for Berry her work (at one time we had a little instameet even). It was so much fun. And the best part? Me saw how magical nature is, because with every visit (the other 2 included) the park changes in colours, flower varieties and exhibits too.

Cookie at the Keukenhof - part 3

Hello everybody! Here me is again with the third and last part about me visiting the Keukenhof. You must know, Keukenhof only opens 8 weeks per year in the springtime. The first time on March 21 was because Berry was invited for the opening of the season. The second time on April 11 we went for the opening of the orchid exhibit and the blessing of the flowers for the Vatican. And the third – and sadly last time this season – was on May 18. Berry took her nan and me took Bamboo to admire the flowers. Needless to say they were both in awe with the beauty of Keukenhof.

Texel part V: vacation slide show

Hello everybody. In June me went on a great vacation for 1 week to the Dutch Waddenisland Texel. Me wrote a few blogs about it - me thinks the people of Texel like them too, there have been some favored and retweeted on twitter! - and already showed some pictures. Here is a little recap of all the blogs (with the links) so you can re-read them whenever you like. But also me made a slideshow. Because hey, a vacation recap is not complete without a slideshow with holiday pictures. Me hope you enjoy it!

Vacation blog part II: De Slufter

Hi everybody. Here is me again with part II of me vacation blogs. In part I me told you all about the island Texel. Well there is lots to see besides towns and sheep – although me really love sheep… – because the island has a lot of national parks and nature scenery too. There are forests, dunes and De Slufter (pronounce it as The Sluv-ter). Me visited this particular piece of nature twice while me stayed on the island. Both times it was magnificent and totally different. Me hope the pictures will give you an impression of how beautiful this piece of nature is…

Vacation blog part I: The island Texel

Hello again! As you know, me – Cookie – has been on vacation to the Dutch Island Texel (you pronounce it as Tassle, but you can say Tex-el too). It is the largest of the Dutch Waddenislands. Me talked about them in Cookie’s Alphabet: W is for…. Texel is a very green island and you can encounter sheep almost at every meadow. But me saw much more there. That is why me is going to write a few blogs about me vacation. So me can tell you all about it. This week, a little bit about the towns and scenery on Texel

Dutch Sesame Street: Meet Purk

Hey there! You know Sesame Street is a real long street with streets in multiple countries. In The Netherlands it is called Sesamstraat and it has its own colourful neighbours. Me will tell you about me Dutch friends. In me last episode of the introduction round of Dutch Sesame Street neighbours, me would like to talk about Purk, a baby piglet that loves to cuddle, poop in her diaper and just be a naughty, cute, little baby. She is the youngest of the bunch, loves playing with Pino (because they are close in age together) and she often has a bow in her ear. (picture by The Muppet Workshop)

Dutch Sesamestreet: Meet Pino

Hello! Me is back with a new introduction of a neighbour on the Dutch Sesamestreet: Pino. Me mentioned Pino before during the Dutch alphabet (remember P is for…), but now me will properly introduce him. Pino (you pronounce it as Pee-no) is a very big, blue bird. He is the cousin of Big Bird. Pino has colourful feathers on top of his head. He may be tall and a goofball, but he is just a little kid too. Pino is only four years old.

Remembrance Day

Today it is May 4th. For the Dutch it is a very important day. Because today it is Remembrance Day. The day all people take two minutes two remember all the fallen since World War II in silence. Every May 4th at 8 pm sharp there will be beautiful ceremonies all over the country. The one Amsterdam is shown on tv and counts as the National ceremony. Our King and Queen will attend this ceremony, together with war veterans from World War II and people of the resistance.
