Inspiration on Thursday

Hello!  Today I am sharing another photo from my maternity album ... sorry for all of the glare, but the photo sleeves make for a difficult time photographing ... and if you look closely at the top left corner you'll notice that I've actually used eyelets to hold/tie my photo right into the pocket (an easy trick).

You may wonder why I have the gold lining along the side of the page.  Well, I actually had to use it for "reinforcement" since the pocket page holes ripped on me almost right away :( ... so I decided to use some nice gold paper and eyelets to create my own holes.

I've never had very pretty writing, but I decided that I wanted to journal in this album, and to make it truly a scrapbook of my experience, it has to include my authentically messing printing :)

Hello!

Today I am sharing another page from my maternity album.  This is the back to the first page that I shared last week.  Since the alum came with some paper dividers I scrapbooked right onto the divider.

I love the Simple Stories sticker that I was able to layer right over my photo ... they almost look like rub-ons, but are so much easier to place flawlessly than a rub-on!

Today I am sharing a page from my album that I recently started to document my recent pregnancy.

This album had been in my stash for a while and I was excited to finally put it to use.

I had fun with this creation.  Since I had a lot of different photos with different poses from my maternity shoot I was able to do mosaic type effect.

You'll notice that I have been having fun using enamel dots and my tiny attacher for embellishing lately ... so easy and simple!

I'm back and sharing more cards that I created recently using up scraps from my stash.

One thing that you'll see is consistent throughout these cards is my use of the sewing machine to sew the patterned piece of paper to the woodgrain or brick background page.  This is a really easy way to add a nice little effect and also truly cuts down on the amount of adhesive needed since the stitching does all the attaching for you!  I also used a number of sentiments that I cut out on my silhouette.  I tend to cut these out in bulk and them set them aside so that I have a bunch of sentiments ready and waiting for the next time that I'm creating cards!

Today we are sharing some birthday cards that I created recently.

I'd like to point out the alpha technique I used on the top left hand corner card ... if you are like me and have a hard time placing square alpha stickers in a straight line beside each other, you can just plan to have them haphazard instead!  It actually puts the letters closer together so that it takes up less space on your card!

Also, don't forget that you can always use "library pockets" on the front of a card to hold a gift card (or just a tag as I have done) -- its a great way to "wrap" a gift card!

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a few cards that I recently created using up some scraps from my stash.

I had fun using the Jillibean Soup Sequins on the "Sweet" card ---  The best thing about these sequins are that there are multiple sizes and they already have the adhesive on the back!  So they are super easy to add to your creations.  We have a number of colours in stock at ScrapMuch?!

I also tried out the Nuvo Crystal drops that we now have in stock (the silver dots on the birthday hat card and the red dots on the "You are So Lovely" card) ... this was my first attempt (I decided to practice right on my cards) and although I like how the dots look on the cards, I learned afterwards that my drops were a little flat (and mis-shapen, haha) and that in order for me to get a more "enamel dot" type effect I just needed to put a bit more of the "liquid" into each drop.  Once I had that down, my future enamel dot creations looked great!  This is a great way to get the enamel dot spattering look at a fraction of the cost.  All it takes is a few practice dots and you'll be a pro!
