Sweet Butterflies

Hello, and Happy Friday!!  I don't know about where you are at, but the temps has significantly dropped and its been in the 30's for highs and teens for lows.  Brr!  I made this Thanks card last weekend but have yet to have time to post it.  I didn't make this for any particular reason other than wanting to have more thank you cards on hand.

The photo below is most true to color, the top photo has a bit of yellow cast to it.  As I have mentioned before in previous posts, I like to stamp backgrounds ahead of time.  I have a small basket sitting on my desk with background stamped patterns.  The sweet little butterflies were stamped using PTI's retired set called Butterfly Dreams.  For the life of me I can't think f the name of the set with the little polka dots.

Build A Wreath

Happy Sunday!  I am popping in quick to share the card I made for Make it Monday at PTI.  This week Melissa is challenging us to build a wreath.

I used a few PTI stamp sets to get this look.  Graceful Greetings, Tag its 2, Background Basics: Text Style, and Sending You.  I like how this turned out.  I followed Melissa's advice on building the leaves behind the die cut wreath.  Ink colors used: Honey Nut, Pale Peony, Simply Chartreuse, Melon Berry, Classic Kraft, and Fine Linen.

Sending you Sunflowers and Sunshine

Good morning!  It's the beginning of September and the shorter days and cooler temps have me thinking of fall.  I adore this set Simple Sunflower stamp set from PTI.  I have used it countless times over the years, and it continues to be one of my favorites.  I was playing around with my Tim Holtz Distress markers with this set.  I colored the stamp and misted with water, which gave it this pretty washed out look.  I played around with different colors for the sunflowers trying to decide which one I was going to go with.  Well, I decided that I loved them all and made three different cards with varying color schemes.

I am entering the top card in the Sisterhood of Crafters for the "anything goes" challenge.

Please Grab Our Badge!

I used several PTI dies for each card, and some pretty foiled vellum accents.  The flowers were inked using Tim Holtz Distress markers, misted with water,  and stamped on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.

This one turned out to be my favorite.  I am also entering this one into the Seize the Birthday challenge.

Deconstructed Sketch 154

Three posts in three days, I can't believe it!  Haha!  I spent some time yesterday creating this card using my pretty PTI Simple Sunflower stamp set.  I adore this set and have used it more times than most of the sets that I own.  The good thing is, it's only $5 for the stamp set and $7 for the coordinating dies.  Score!

SUPPLIES:

I used the sketch at The Deconstructed Sketch, but for some reason wasn't able to capture the image of the sketch.  So make sure you go check it out and play along.  I love that Jen keeps the link open for a VERY long time just in case you forget to link up or type your post right away.  We've all done that a time or two, haven't we?

Thank You Triangles

I don't spend a lot of time on Pinterest nor do I go searching for things to pin, but I do check it a few times a day.  One day I found a bunch of color inspiration boards and pinned them.  I took this one literally and was inspired by the triangle tiles as well as the color palette.

I took my triangle screen die-namics plate and ran it through my die cutting machine in each of the colors below.  Then I ran a piece of white cardstock, slightly smaller than the frame, through my Xyron adhesive machine and adhered the frame to my base.  After that was complete, I then started putting random colors in the empty holes. The white frame with random pops of color is what makes this look so similar to the inspiration photo.  I did find out the hard way that each one of those tiny triangles goes in the hole a certain way.  If you try and make it fit the wrong direction, it will look horrible.  Ask me how I know.  ;)

I am absolutely in LOVE with the way this turned out!  What do you think?

Supplies:

I found this beautiful color inspiration board at Fresh Hues and was inspired to take it literally.

MFTWSC173

Hello again!  I have a card to share that I made using the current MFT sketch as well as the April Color Palette Challenge.  I used two thank you cards from my stash last week and figured it would be best to replace one.

No patterned paper was used for this card.  The typewriter text background was stamped in a natural colored ink on, and the flower was stamped in Razzleberry ink on white cardstock.  I've been itching to use the pretty Four Corners die-namics dies, it made for a pretty decorative leaf substitute.
