Underwater Beauty - The Stamping Chef Challenge #45

It's time for another Anything Goes Challenge over at The Stamping Chef. Did you know there is also a TSC Facebook Group? You can post your projects there and also be first to know about specials, promotions and freebies. It's a great place to share your art and get tips.

Summer may be coming to an end but I'm not ready to let go just yet so I wanted to make a card using the lovely Sirena. I printed her out and colored her using my Copic markers. I used a gold Wink of Stella pen to color her harp. It's really sparkly but this unfortunately does not show up in the picture.

I used a pearl pen for her brows for a little fun and texture and once I cut her out with my die, I added a little Frantage for some more texture and to simulate the bubbles.

I used a wave die cut that I painted with green acrylic paint and iridescent medium and then glued along the bottom. The shells were from my stash except for the large one which I actually found on the beach a couple of weeks ago. I cleaned it really well and went over it with some iridescent medium before I attached it.

Well now it's your turn. I'd love to see what you've got cooking. Don't forget to use the linky on the TSC Challenge Blog so I can stop by and leave a comment.

Raven's Pink Fantasy

Through the Kit and Clowder Ning site I have found some amazing digital stamps and artists. Ching Chou Kuik is one of them and I adore her images. This one is called Raven's Soul and can be found at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I colored her with copics and painted the background with twinkling H2Os. I cut the image with a Spellbinders die and then added a little Frantage around it. To create the frame, I cut my card base and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with a Spellbinders die to create the frame and then attached a piece of cardstock behind it. I then mounted my image in the center using some foam tape for dimension.

I cut the pink flourish and painted it with a light pink Twinkling H2O for shimmer and then I added some adhesive gems.

Although it's hard to see, I went along the edges of the image and the base card with a silver paint pen to give some added interest and pick up some of the shimmer and glitter from the Frantage.

I will be entering this card in the Sweet Pea Stamps Art Contest on Facebook.

Fairy Alyce in Shabby Chic

I am waaaaay out of my box with this card. As you know, I am usually a clean and simple kind of girl but I do like to experiment every now and again to see what I am capable of and I thought I would give shabby chic a try again. This is for the June challenge on the Kit and Clowder Ning site. You do have to be a member of the site but it's free and there is lots of eye candy on the site and wealth of coloring information and classes for beginners and intermediate colorists.

The image is a commission from the Stamping Chef done specially for Alyce. I colored her with copics and painted the background with some Twinkling H2Os. I used my copics to add color to a white pearl flourish to match my project. I distressed the edges of my cardstock and patterned paper and painted a little gesso on the patterned paper to tone down the color. I also painted some onto the flowers and then went along the edges with some Vintage Photo distress ink. I also added a little cheese cloth in a couple of areas with iridescent medium. I added some salmon colored pearl drops to the wings with a Viva Pearl Pen.

I have to say I am pretty pleased with how this came out since I colored the image before I even had an idea of what kind of project I had in mind or even what color paper I was going to use. I am also entering this into the Stamping Chef Anything Goes Challenge.
