GOLF...

Another summer family adventure under our belt... which means another layout added to our memories.  :)
Well here we go with Sunday and the start of a new challenge over at Lasting Memories.
In sticking with the monthly theme of "Adult Coloring Trend..."  This week's challenge has you actually doing a little bit of coloring on your layouts.
LM#306 - Add an image that you
have colored or color your background paper.
Here's mine...

I chose to color a digital image of the golf bag with the green in the background.  I used my Stampin' Up colored pencils and then used SU blender pens to make it look a bit smoother.
This was our first time golfing 9 holes as a family.  Although daughter just drove the cart and drove her brother nutso.  First time for me attempting 9 holes and actually hitting a ball somewhere other than a driving range.  The boys in my life said I did ok.  :)  I'll take it.

I had a few challenges that also inspired me to scrap this layout...

STICK IT DOWN August Single sketch - inspired me with my placement.

My Photo areas are a tad bigger for I wanted to include more pictures.

Challenge YOUrself #32 - Using the "Art" for inspiration and including YOU in the photo

The colors, trees, the idea of "Being together", the art of coloring all inspired me with their challenge.

I used Green, Turquoise, Journaling, Title and 2 cardstock (turquoise and red)

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peak.  Now go get scrapping.  :)

Digi Darla's Ch # 13 "Let's Celebrate" - Card & other FUN NEWS!!

Hello!  Has really over a week gone by that I haven't posted anything new for you all to see??  So sorry about that!!  That's changing today and over the weekend... for I have a Laundry list of crafty things I need to make.
So... they say that bad things can happen in 3's??  Well... I think GOOD things can happen in 3's as well.

Here is my  #1 thing "Good"... a card I made for our daughter for her last day of school.  It's not until the 21st... so I am pretty proud of myself for being this ahead of the game. The other wonderful thing about this card is that I am entering it over at Digi Darla's Ch # 13 - Let's Celebrate challenge!!  They are also having a DT call... this is my 2nd entry for that.  Wish me luck!!  I didn't think I was a fan of Digi Images until I tried them!!  LOVE them!!  It's like the stamp that keeps on giving without trying to find your black ink stamp pad!  LOL!!  Just for entering the challenge... you get a cute little freebie digi!  That is worth it right there.  So go check them out!!
Other than the Digi Image from Digi Darla's, most of this paper is from the "SWEET" collection from DCWV paper.  The red polka dots is Stampin' Up DSP and Real Red cardstock is thrown in there as well. Then with some random star brads, glimmer Real Red brads from Stampin' Up.  I colored my digi image with Stampin' Up markers.  My daughter will be impressed that I added "Highlights" to her hair.  :-)

My #2 bit of FUN News today... I am being SHOWCASED on the NIKKI SIVILS Blog for a double page layout I did a little while ago of a "Roadtrip"  using her EXIT HERE collection.  Yay Me!!  You can see it all right HERE.  She has such fun whimsical paper collections that I highly suggest you go gawk over!!

And... My #3 bit of FUN News... I was chosen as the TOP 3 for the month of APRIL over at Sketches in Thyme.  You can see my "Family Bike Ride" layout HERE.  I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for an upcoming challenge month.  Will keep you posted on that!

Thanks so much for visiting.  I will be back!!  Have a great day!!

PLG #33 and DDC # 12 - SWEET Dandelions!! (12 x 12 Layout using a card sketch)

As I type this in REAL time of 11:00pm at night... I realize that 1/2 the week is over and the 3 day weekend is almost upon us.  Yay!!  What big plans do you all have?  We are supposed to have just one nice day of weather.  We are visiting the In-laws at the beach 1 day... and hoping to find a new adventure hike to take the kids on another.  And of course I will be crafting in my down time.  Oh.... and I am learning to love reading books again.  Yes MOM!!  You read that right... I am about 1/2 way through "The Fiddler" by Beverly Lewis.  It keeps my attention... and that is the whole idea.  I am not going to jinx myself.  The next "Book Report" you get from me is when I actually finish the book.

Tonight I have a layout to bring you for a couple different challenges.

Close-up of digi image used.  "Boy with Flowers" from Digi Darlas.  I colored him with SU pencils and then went over with a blender pen.  I also fussy cut him out and popped him up with some dimensionals so he stands out a bit.

Close-up of my handcut dandelions.  I just took my 2 different scallop punches, punched a scallop and then cut along each petal towards the center to create a dandelion like image.

Over at Paper Lovin' Gals 33... we have a black white inspirational photo of dandelions in their "Naked" state as my son would say.  Well along with my black, white, red and yellow.. I was inpsired to show some bright and cheerful dandelions.  Here is the inspirational photo to follow so you can join us!!  You have until Wednesday, May 30th at 8pm PST to enter.

On a bittersweet note... this will be the last PLG challenge for a while.  At least through summer.  Life has taken over for a few of us.  But we will come back with spunk and excitement!!

Over at Digi Darlas Challenges # 12  ...my friend KAREN came up with her very first CARD SKETCH to use along with a Digi Darla image for their latest challenge and DT call!!  Well... I was very excited that I could use her sketch and make a scrapbook layout with it.  The sketch and image that I chose is sooo perfect to tell the story of my son picking dandelions while his Dad was mowing the lawn.  I caught him doing this and of course grabbed my camera.  He was so serious and then he saw me and was sooo proud!  He said he was picking flowers for me.  :-)

Here is the card sketch to follow... Isn't this great????

I remember being scared to use digi images.  I always thought you could only use them in all Digital Layouts or cards.  Boy was I ever wrong!
I hope you like what you see and you have some time to join either of these challenges!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I know this little guy looks not very happy stuck in this wine glass... but this is for my Sister-in-Law that loves her cat and loves her wine... so it was perfect for her.  I tried to spin it off as a more of a HAPPY card.  I think it will work.
I am entering this over at Digi Darla's Ch # 7 - All About Flowers that just started!!  I originally made this for their "All about buttons" challenge... but missed the entry time.  So No... I have flowers on here as well.  :-)  My Digi Image is from the Digi Darla's store that you can find here... "Cat in Wine Glass".  Lots of fun stuff over there... you have 2 weeks to play along.

I also followed the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #29.  I flipped it to the vertical position for my card.  Their challenge ends today... so you do have a few hours if you love this sketch and want to play along!!

Thanks so much for visiting!!  I will back later on today with a Scrap Layout for the newest Lasting Memories Challenge!! It's all about those Rainy Day Photos or Bloomin' Flower Photos.  Check it out HERE to play along!!  Some great DT layouts so far!!

Lasting Memories Layout Challenge # 74 "Going Digital" and LM's first Blog Hop!!

Welcome to our first hop of 2012 at Lasting Memories!!  I, (Michele) am the FIRST STOP... so welcome!!  If you would like to check out all of the details of our hop first, just click HERE to start at Lasting Memories! Please be sure to read through because this week we have a lot going on! We're being sponsored by Digi Darla which is PERFECT since this weeks challenge is "DIGITAL"!!

For my layout today, I used Digi Darla's "TIMMY TURTLE"
Here is what I created...  My daughter was very excited and anxious to go outside in the rain to test out her new umbrella and rain boots.  When to her surprise, the rain stopped and the sun came out.  So Daddy "Made Rain" with the garden hose and she thought that was pretty cool and I thought "How Silly"... so the camera came out. (Me inside from the living room window)  :-)

And a Close-up of Mr. Timmy Turtle... I colored him to match my daughter's umbrella and clothing.

And another close-up of embellies and fun papers.

And a final pic... I outlined the cloud, raindrops and alpha letters for more depth.

This is my VERY FIRST stab anything digital other than my photos.  If I can do it, YOU can too!!  It was very fun!!  I also followed the "Inspirational Sketch" from Lasting Memories for my layout this week.  You can see the details at the very end of this post.

And... I am also joining the gals at SCRAPFIT for their  Workout # 61 "Blank Canvas"... where you must start your layout with a piece of WHITE card stock and see where it takes you.

Supplies Used:
Echo Park - Springtime Collection
Stampin' Up - Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo Card stock.
INK:  Barely Banana, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Gable Green, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Digi Darla - "Timmy Turtle"
Random Alpha Letters - Don't know Brand

Now it's time to hop onto ELIZABETH for more inspiration!! Oh and one more thing!! We're also including our friends from Digi Darla's DT in our blog hop and we'll finish up at Digi Darla's Designs where you can view her newest releases and more!! Once you've had a look around, leave Digi Darla a comment and let her know which image is your fav for your chance to win 5 of her images!!!

How's that for a busy funfilled week!!! Be sure to join us and show us your digital creations for a chance to win. All the details can be found at Lasting Memories .. Link up your layout by Saturday, February 11th at 9pm EST.. Here's your master list in case you get lost .. happy hopping!!!
