K is for Kids at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

For the next fortnight its K is for Kids at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Of course being a snarky bunch it's not all about the "kids". Have a look at what the rest of the Design Team have made you will be surprised.  I knew immediately I had to use a Dolly Mama stamp, I don't use them often and they are borderline snarky, almost subliminal so that being said here is what I made.

As I said a Dolly Mama stamp, coloured with copics and spica glitter pens, die cut with the spellbinders long rectangles. Patterned paper is from a Project life pad (like the smaller images on it) And the paper looks much better now that the birds are not on their heads.

Stamped an extra sign fussy cut it and popped it up.

finished the inside with one of my few vertical sentiments and some leftover paper.

I'm entering this in:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Toppings ~~ A touch of Green.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the hilariously funny snarky projects the rest of the design team have made.  Since most of us are "at home" now is your chance to get your "craft on" and make us a K is for Kids card.

There is a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.....Not Your Momma's Card

The Shopping Our Stash gals would like to see a project that might be a little inappropriate to give your Mother,  Well I searched my stash of AI people. girlfriends and oldies nothing really jumped out at me but then I saw a DOLLY MAMA ......I haven't used one of them in a long while so here is my slightly inappropriate card.

I don't have a lot of Dolly Mamas but the ones I have I love. they are just so funky and a little sarcastic. Of course I had to use lime green and black just because I could and had the already smooshed paper from Walmart.

Perfect sentiment for someone stressing over the next birthday,  I made one of these a few years ago for my daughter for one of her "big" years. I  used wink of stella on the sentiment and cut out a popped it up, as well as the hair and bow. (how fun was that fussy cutting?)

After the sentiment on the front of the card  what else could be said but Happy Birthday?

I would like to enter this in:

Seize the Birthday ~~ without the topping.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the main blog and check out how inappropriate the other design team members can be.

N is for Naughty Christmas Card ~~ At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

We are rockin' this challenge and hope you do too!!! Head over to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Blog and check out what the rest of the team have  created for the challenge. This was a no-brainer for me I knew I would use my Dolly Mama Christmas stamp, it is a slightly larger stamp and made it 4 1/4 X 6 inches, most of the dolly mama stamps I have are fairly tall, it does limit the lay-out of the card but I used the sketch at Catch The Bug, Stella says Sketch.  So here it is!!!

I added a few black rhinestones

Close up of the sentiment

I finished the inside with a simple Merry Christmas die cut (hiding on my desk) and a fir tree that was also kicking around on my desk, wow two scraps less on my desk.

I want to enter this in

Thanks for spending some time here today and dig out those naughty stamps and create something for us at SoSS.

Show Us Your Snark!!!

Shopping Our Stash has joined forces with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for a SNARKY challenge. So what it means is when you get your `show us your snark`project done you can put it on both challenges....it`s a `two-fer``. Don't forget to read until the end as there is a second card.

I have a few Dolly Mama stamps it was hard to choose which to use, well it was chosen for me, I packed two of the stamps to bring to the cottage and imagine my surprise when I realized the one was not the one I had planned on but it was a happy accident as I liked this one better.

And here is my snark|||

I added some of the patterned paper to the top note and I used the swiss cheese border punch, it still needs a sentiment just wasn`t sure which one.

Since this is a crossover challenge I have made a card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (what better challenge for them) I used another Dolly Mama just love their little tongue in cheek snarky notes.

I used the brand new sketch challenge at The Crooked Stamper, it worked perfect for the tall skinny image,.

And here is the Snark!!!

Well it's a little out of focus but  was trying to keep the card and the holder from blowing to the ground, it's a tad breezy here today.

challenges I'm entering:

Thanks for stopping by today and since we have a two-fer you can post your card on both challenge blogs.

Drunken Stampers #97, Hand Wash Cold.....

DS97
Challenge time at the Drunken Stamper’s Challenge Blog so get out the washi tape and create. Of course we want to see those creations so when they are done head over to Drunken Stampers Blog and strut your stuff.
I must start off with how behind the times I am……I had to Google Washi Tape so I knew I didn’t have any. I went to my local scrapbooking store to purchase some, it is a small  store and there were only a few to chose from but I loved the designs on the one I used. Along with my favourite little rodents (House Mouse) I love my Dolly Mamas, the one I used is called “burning the candle”.
                      IMG_1477
I coloured with pencil crayons and blended with odourless mineral spirits, added the butcher’s twine I got in a prize pack, then tied some twine in the button., the cardstock is Cameo Coral and the dp is from an Asian stack pack
Thanks for looking today and head on over to the Drunken Stamper’s  Challenge Blog, you have until Friday September 21st 11.59 p.m. Pacific time. See you there.

Santa……Define Naughty

I found this sketch challenge at Pricilla’s Styles Blog is a a “round about” way from a DT on the site. It was a cool sketch and I just had to try it. I am working on some Christmas cards for a friend so everything I do from now until December will be Christmas.  I love my Dolly Mamas, I have a few, this is the only Christmas one I have. I coloured it with pencil crayons and oms. The dp is from a Christmas pack I bought at a local craft store. The base is Old Olive and the layer is Cherry Cobbler. I punched some small snowflakes with my new EK punch I bought on my trip to Port Huron this past week. I added a few rhinestones and the fur trim is done with white opal liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today and come back again soon.

I could not at any age be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.

Christmas in July

Well way, way back before the postal strike a Christmas in July swap was planned at  Stamp in Canada, names were drawn and  we made and sent one Christmas card. Mine was more delayed than I had planned and it was finally received on Wednesday. The recipient of my card is a very fun lady so I knew I had to make a really fun card for her so out came my Dolly Mama which was purchased at the Butterfly Moon…..check it out it’s the banner on the right side of my blog.. I did use the traditional  colours, Ridinghood Red and the Christmas dp is from a paper pack which matches it perfect. the poinsettias were also purchased from the Butterfly Moon.

Some more Dolly Mamas

Still here at our cottage, dial up isn’t fun but I do get some crafting done. It’s way too hot to go outside so I like to sit in front of the fan and colour. I had these images coloured so I just had to put them together which was a feat in itself. I had a bit of trouble getting the border punch to work, well it isn’t the fault of the punch it happens to be the operator. I do like the end result.
                     IMG_1200
Done with one of my favourite colours……lime green, it looks so great bordered with black. The image was coloured with pencil crayons and oms. Her sign says “Go Braless it pulls the wrinkles out of your face”
                   IMG_1201
I have posted this image before as I have used it for a couple of Birthday cards. The sign says “Put your big girl panties on and deal with it”. It’s a great one for a “good” friend that is having a milestone birthday.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my Dolly Mamas, you are welcome to stop by anytime to see what I’ve been crafting.

Dolly Mama…..Burning the Candle.

Happy Independence Day to any of my American friends that might read my blog. I didn’t have an opportunity to make a card for today.
Here is a birthday card made with one of my Dolly Mamas, you can see all the stamps they have by clicking here.
I coloured with pencil crayons and oms. The card stock is Gable Green which is a retired colour from Stampin’up. The dp is from a DCW stack I purchased at Winners. The sign says “I used to burn the candle at both ends but now I can’t find the matches” TFL.
