Good morning! I'm pre-scheduling today's post for the newest challenge at Paper Crafting Journey. This fortnight's theme is Perfect in Pink, a nice easy one. Our very generous sponsor is Sassy Studio, and they have provided us with some gorgeous images that work wonders for this theme. Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's work for some wonderful inspiration.
Lots of pink here, for Powder Puff Sassy, isn't she a cutie? Oh for the day when we all looked like that (ha ha ha), these days, just balancing on one foot would be a challenge!
Once again, I've coloured with copics and then cut the image with a Spellbinders die. The lace and bling are something I rarely use, and the pretty DP is from a digital download pack from Bearly Mine Designs. These lovely papers print out beautifully. I finally tried a new technique this time around....frantage embossing. I still need a bit more practice, but I do like the result.
I won't be around much over the next three weeks, as I have company visiting from England. Thankfully I was able to finish my gardens before they arrived, and now I too will be having a holiday.
Hopefully your time will allow you to join in with our challenge, as we always like to see what you have to share. Take care, and have a great day.

A quick post today, as my visitors should be here any minute, from England! My house is all clean and tidy and my gardens are done....I'm ready for a vacation! Here I have a pretty image from Digi Stamps 4 Joy, which was really a treat to colour. Copics again, and some pretty paper to complement.
Other supplies:
Image - Romany
DP from Paper Mania - Burleigh Blue collection
Spellbinder's die - Labels Eighteen
Whimsy die - Birthday Sentimentables
Cheery Lynn die - City Girl Edger
Marianne's die - Swirls and Leaves
Ribbon and flowers from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by, and hoping you have a wonderful day!
Some challenges for my card:
Here we go, with this week's DT card for Dr Digi's House of Stamps. I'd like to introduce you to Beach Bum Bob....he's enjoying some rays and a nice cool drink, and he wants you to know...retirement is a blast! I've used a sentiment from one of the new sentiment sheets and will probably give this as a birthday card, but I think it would also make a great retirement card.
Well, I finally took some time away from my gardens and made a card. Copics again, and a very simple design. The DP is from the Bo Bunny Serenade collection and I've inked the edges. I've used a corner punch but no embellishments....just a little doodling.
'Tis the weekend now, and I hope you have a good one! Just a quick post as I have a tree trimmer coming today, to remove some tree limbs and branches that were damaged over the winter. Just hoping the whole tree doesn't need to come down.

Girls like them too..
Good morning everyone. The sun is shining here today and all is good. My tree trimmer came and cut out the damaged limbs, but come fall my large birch tree will be coming down. Another reminder of how harsh winter can be. So glad winter is over, but now I think spring is too. It didn't stay long, did it? Hopefully we won't be complaining of an extreme summer, too.
I squeezed some time in last night for this card. A quick one, and although I could have made a guy's card, I decided to go with pink for a girl's card. Another cute image from Just Inklined, and this one is titled High Tops.
I'll make this a quick post, as my eyesight is a bit off this morning. Too much sun I guess. Just let me know if you have any questions on the details. Thanks for visiting.

Garden Beauties
Good morning! We had some lovely weather this weekend...perfect for working in the garden. It is still cooler than normal and we are still wearing jeans and jackets, but the sun was shining! I'm having my windows cleaned today. This was something that my husband used to do, but I'm not one for ladders....heavens, I'm barely safe on steps! I'll be doing the inside, but outside....no way.
So today, another card with a spring or summer theme. A bit of fussy cutting and some copic colouring for the lovely image, and some pretty flowers and a butterfly for embellishment. I'm not sure that there will be fairies in my garden, but hopefully soon there will be flowers and butterflies!
Supplies used:
Image from Delicious Doodles - Ivy Fairy
Paper from GCD Studios - Ella Blue collection
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Marianne's Craftable Die - Swirls and Leaves
Peel-off butterfly on vellum, coloured with gel pens
Sentiment from Verve Stamps - Birthday Surprise collection
Thanks so much for visiting, and here's wishing you a wonderful day!

Get on your bike and ride.....
Good morning folks! It's a long weekend for those of us in Canada, and we are hoping for some nice sunshine. Hopefully the rain is finished, however, it does make pulling weeds so much easier. Always a silver lining, and so much better than snow! Oh, and my tulips are finally ready to flower!
And of course, now you can get out on those bikes if you are so inclined, the motorized sort or the good old pedal powered. Neither one is for me, I have to say....feeling far too old and really, I'm a big chicken! This card will be for my brother. Both him and his wife have motorbikes, and I do like to kid them regarding their future adventures....
For my Just Inklined DT card this week, here is one of the images to be found on The Best of Just Inklined 2012 CD ROM. I think it is hilarious, and I'm sure it will bring a smile. All though I was thinking of a birthday card, it would actually work well for an anniversary card too.
Once again I've worked with my copics, cutting the image out with my Spellbinders die. This time though, the image isn't layered. I used the die on the DP and the image, fitting them together like a puzzle. This makes a much lighter weight card, and worked great with these bold colours.
The DP is from the Bo Bunny - Serenade Collection, and the sentiment is from the Wild Rose Studio - Birthday Circles set. The only embellishment is the silver peel-off border...I'm letting the image carry the show!

Super Star
It's hard to believe that it's Thursday again....this week went by so fast! It must be the all that sunshine and the warmer weather. Anyway, it's time again for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey. This fortnight the theme is 'For that Special Man', and I've made my card for a little man...one who loves to sing and play the piano, and he's only seven! Who knows what the future may hold.
This cute little guy, titled Rock & Roll Superstar, was provided by our sponsor. Coloured with copics, I took inspiration for his outfit from a show I saw in Myrtle Beach with a performance by an Elvis impersonator.
Supplies used:
Papers from Paper Mania - Happy Days collection
Spellbinders die - Labels Sixteen
Sentiment - from Studio G
Our sponsor this week is Milk Coffee, with some adorable images for the lucky winner.

Love those flowers...
Just a quick post today, as it is a busy weekend. Mother's Day, and my baby bother's 50th birthday celebration! Even the weather is co-operating...I truly believe that spring is finally here. The grass is now green and there is even some sprouting in my garden. One day, there may even be flowers!
For now though, I'll have to make do with this pretty Hollyhocks image from Just Inklined. They are one of my favourite flowers, but they don't do well for me because of our harsh winters.
Once again, I've coloured with copics, and I've really stayed with a simple design. I've used a Spellbinders die to cut out the image, a corner punch for some added interest, prettey papers from Wild Rose Studio and then a lovely ribbon and bow.
No sentiment for now. I'll probably be giving this one to my Mom in a gift pack of handmade cards, so we'll see what she decides.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone, and I do hope you get to spend some time with your family.

Knit one, purl one...
Knitting is Nora's favourite pastime, and socks are her specialty. She loves to make everyone a pair for Christmas, and no two pair are the same....in fact no two socks are the same! You can find Knitting Nora at Dr Digi's House of Stamps, and she's definitely good for a smile. The perfect card to go with a gift of pretty yarn.
I've used my copics and pencils today, and then the 'out of the box' technique to cut out the image. For a bit of funt, I used the square die at an angle and then gave it a frame. I've tried to give her a nice living room setting, using two patterned papers and some washi tape to define the baseboard, and I liked the idea of a crooked picture. I finally made use of my Chandelier stamp from Memory box, and the pretty corner die from Joy Crafts.
The verse is a Penny Black stamp, which is usually found as the verse inside the card....and isn't it so true! Do you remember when you thought 40 was old? Those were the days!

Springtime Fairy
Oh, it does look like we are in for some lovely weather, finally, and my plan is to get outside and try to put things to order. But first, I have a card to post!
I had some fun with a couple of rubber stamps this time. First, the Silver Fairy, by Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps. I've coloured her with water colours, and I'm quite pleased with how the colours blended. Next, I masked her, and stamped the background with distress ink, using the Hero Arts Dandelion Frame stamp.
As you can see, there are lots of layers, with both plain and patterned papers. The image was cut out with my circle die, and then I rubbed around the edges wih silver metalic ink. For the die cut mat, I used the Joy Craft Lacy Square Frame die, and it is also rubbed over with the metallic. The only embellishments are the two little gems on the wing, for a tiny bit of sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed your visit. Now I'm off to the garden and more yard work. It's amazing, but that even feels like fun.....after waiting so long for winter to be over! Hope your day is sunny and warm too. Take care and enjoy.

Wrap it up...
Well, we are definitely in a rainy season. Mother Nature is a bit confused...I don't think she realizes it is now May. I'm really hoping for some increase in temperature in the coming week, and maybe the gardens may start to look as if it could be spring.
I've been working on spring themed cards, hoping to jump-start the season....but that hasn't worked. So, today I'm going with a Christmas creation. Maybe I've been going at it wrong....maybe this will send winter packing!

So, how about a gift bag, all dressed up for the holiday season! A sweet image coloured with copics in the traditional Christmas colours of red and green. I like the personal touch of a decorated bag, and it's a nice change from making a card.

Stripes it is!!
Good morning! We are back early with the new challenge at Paper Craft Journey, but this one will last for the full two weeks. The theme this time around is SPOTS OR STRIPES. We are really looking forward to seeing your creations, and do so hope you can find the time to join in.
Supplies:
Kenny K image - Scooter
Paper from Bo Bunny - Serenade Collection
Sentiment from Wild Rose Studio
This little fellow does so remind me of one of my grandsons, as he goes hell for leather on his scooter! Lots of nice bright colours here...my favourite, and very little embellishment, 'cause of course it's for a guy. In going with the theme, I've gone with striped papers, but I've also used a stencil to add some dots.
I've coloured with my copics again, and a little bit of pencil, and then some pan pastels to fill in the background. I've used the 'out of the box' technique again, using a circle die and my scissors for the fussy cutting. I found a few stickers in my scrapbook stash for a bit of trim, and if you look closely you will see some gold metalic pen for the edging on the black cardstock.
