April Calendar

Hi all!  I've been making calendars with some of my other crafty friends for a while, and I missed last month for some reason.  But I wanted to make sure to get one done this month!  My calendar is from Taylored Expressions and I've used various stamps to embellish it.  The pattern paper for the umbrella is Lemonade from Basic Grey.  I used the Scattered Showers die from PTI to cut the umbrella out.  The sentiment is from the Scattered Showers Additions set and the tulips are from the Vintage Picnic set.  I don't know if you can see it, but I clear embossed some raindrops on the top.  April is a very busy month for me.  My 20th anniversary is on the 11th, so I surrounded it with a heart.  My birthday is on the 19th, so I highlighted that with a cupcake.  The bottom looked a little bare, so I added some SU ribbon.  This calendar looks a little busy to me!
Taylored Expressions has a calendar challenge each month and I'm entering this one in the challenge.
The girls participating in our calendar challenge are listed below.  Stop by their blogs to see their calendars.

February Calendar

Wow!  February 1st!  This month came awfully quick!  But that means it's time for another  calendar challenge with some of my friends.  I have been using Taylored Expressions calendars and I found that TE is sponsoring a calendar challenge over on SCS.  So I decided to use some TE stamps with my calendar as well.  I found a card in the TE gallery by Taylor using this set called Love Everywhere and I just fell in love with it.  So I sort of cased her card.  I love the dog in this set...reminds me of my Lizzie when she's playing.  Some of the hearts and the bench are up on dimensionals.  I also used some Star Dust Stickles to add some sparkle.  The sentiment and heart stamp around the "14" are from Verve.  The sets are Hundred Hearts and Sweet Valentine.  I love the red and chocolate.  Makes me think of red roses and delicious chocolates!
Here are the links to my friends who are also posting calendars this month.  Please stop by and leave them some love.

January Calendar

Happy New Year once again!  Since it's the first of the month, we all need new calendars, right?  Well a few of my stamping friends have gotten together to create a calendar each month and post it to our blogs.  I've been using Taylored Expressions 6x6 calendar pages.  You can purchase and download them right away (which is what I did today!).

I decided to go with snowmen for my calendar page since January should have lots of snow.  However, here in Buffalo, NY (snow capital as we call it), we have NO SNOW!!  We are supposed to get some tonight into tomorrow.  It was a weird Christmas with no snow.

Anyway, I digress.  This snowmen scene was perfect for the top of my calendar and I love this image!  It's from Impression Obsession's clear stamp set called Let It Snow.  It's colored with copics and I added some sparkle with a clear gel pen.  The snowflake is from Heidi Grace.  The twine, added at the very last minute, was a gift from Jami Bova.  My calendar stand is on my file cabinet at school, so I'll have to take it there on Tuesday when school starts again.  :- (
Here are links to the other girls' blogs so you can see their fabulous calendars.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to be doing more stamping this week (fingers crossed!).

October Calendar

Hi again everyone!  I'm posting my calendar page late, but it's only a day late.  I love fall and was trying to find just the right images for my October page.  I found this unused Heartfelt Creations pumpkin and vine set that coordinates with the Spellbinders pumpkin nesties and knew it was the perfect choice.
I stamped the pumpkin in Memento tuxedo black and die cut it with the nestie.  Then I set out to color.  I love orange and used some Y and YR copic markers.  Such pretty colors!  I stamped the vines and leaves and colored them with YG markers.  The pumpkin was placed on top of the vines with dimensionals and I added the ribbon.  When I was ready to photograph it, I thought it needed something, so I added Star Dust Stickles to the vines and leaves.  The calendar page (from Taylored Expressions) is mounted on dp from a K&Company fall paper pack.  I left my stand for the calendar in my classroom, so this will be going to school with me tomorrow!

There are several other girls creating calendars that you'd might like to see.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy October!

September Calendar Challenge

Happy September everyone!  Today was my first day back at school (officially), and I had to endure all the meetings and things they make you do on staff days.  If you are a teacher, you will know what I'm talking about!  As I was in the meetings, I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my calendar, since I forgot to do it earlier in the week.  Some of the girls get together for a monthly calendar challenge...you'll see links to their blogs at the end of this post.  I haven't participated since June, so I was determined to get one done this month!  I decided on this little guy from Paper Makeup Stamps called Schoolie Ed.  (I actually wanted to use Ms. Nancy the Teaching Fairy, but she just didn't fit on the top of the calendar!)
The calendars I'm using are from Taylored Expressions.  They print out as a 6x6 calendar.  I trimmed it down a bit to mount it on a 6x6 piece of garden green cardstock so the back is finished off and you don't see the ink bleeding through.  The sentiment is from the Apples to Apples set, also from Paper Makeup Stamps.  I added red corner pieces in real red to give it more color.  Very simply (and quickly) done, but too cute!  I think this is going to school with me this year!  Here's a closeup.
So here are the links to the other girls that are participating!  Some wonderful calendars to view!

June Calendar

***Please click here for the My Time Made Easy Release Day post!***

Some of my stamping friends are making really cute calendars every month and I decided to get on the bandwagon and create with them! I purchased a calendar frame and page protectors from Taylored Expressions a while ago, but never used them! So being that it's June 1st, I can finally say that I'm using it today!
I printed out a June 2011 calendar from Taylored Expressions and used the new set from Papertrey Ink called Garden Variety. The calendar is matted with SU's Crushed Curry cardstock. The black chipboard flower button is something I've had forever and is threaded with red and white baker's twine.

Now stop by the girls' blogs and see what they've done!
